I am so sick of people acting like they know things about diabetes besides these statements: 1. You get it if you're fat. 2. You get it if you eat too much sugar. Diabetes is not a game. There are several types of diabetes. It is a serious disease. There are juvenile diabetes, type one diabetes, type two diabetes, hypoglycemic, hyperglycemic and so much more. There are so many causes to diabetes than just being fat. Don't ever ask me "Do you know how serious diabetes is?" again! I've lived with this heartless disease for 15 years. I know how serious it is. I did not get diabetes from being fat. Diabetes does not go away! I'm sorry but there is no cure and my pancreas is gone until they come up with a cure. I know how serious it is. My dad died from it when I was twelve. One year after I was diagnosed with it and it scared the t totally shit out of me. I've been taking my own shots, drawing my own insulin, checking my own blood sugar and counting carbs since I was 11. I know the side effects. I know what happens. I'm fully educated on it. Before you judge someone with an illness I just honestly want to know, are you educated on it? Have you lived through it some how? Have you watched a friend or family member die or suffer from it because of trial and error?
