I rewatched the SU finale and noticed two things I didn’t pick up on originally
1) Steven is going to have a space visit with Lars and the Off colours once a week

In MLP, dragons eat gems. In Steven Universe, shattering is considered a capital punishment for gems. In which Homeworld has created grotesque, Frankenstein's monster-esque monsters using shattered gems.
So what happens when a dragon eats sentient gems? My guess is that consumed gems would attempt to take on a form but inadvertently fuse with the dragon's body. Let's just call the end result a Shard Dragon.

inktober day 29 : united
some happy cluster gems !
Still like this though, always will.
All of the gems and fusions I’ve designed (with help from @finemanederby with ideas for Star Diopside, see far right) that were digitized by @megademencia!
This is Verdelite, a.k.a. Green Tourmaline. She is the only Tourmaline, or Gem (that is known to be able to do this; There may be more) for that matter, that can create pressurized bubbles, the method used to make Synthetic Cluster Gems like Star Diopside. She never wanted to make them, but was forced to because of her rare ability. It not only drains her physically, but emotionally, as she doesn’t want to do this to other gems, rebels or not.
