I love how Clu tries to be as lowkey as possible about his schemes during Betrayal but then he completely drops the pretense around Tron:

Clu: ISOs, I'm sorry about these terrorists, I executed them all for you.

Also Clu: *turns around and winks at Tron*

Maybe it's because he's Flynn's digital copy, thus feels Flynn's camaraderie and friendship with Tron but Clu never hides from Tron or lies to him. He's honest to Tron every time.

For all the ways Clu tried to undermine Tron's name and legacy after his coup, he never truly got rid of him when and where he could. He kept Tron alive and wanted him to join his side willingly, he got him after his uprising and rectified him but never removed that glowig T symbol off his suit. And Clu kept Tron City's name as it was. His base of operation was literally named after his adversary.

"Without the mighty Tron, Flynn falls." And maybe the logic applies to Clu, Kevin Flynn's digital copy. With the mighty Tron, Clu rises.

Rinzler all shaken and traumatized after his first kill and Clu gently taking him to a tub and washing off program gore of him. Washing his hair.

Do you think about that part in Betrayal comics in which Clu tells Tron "I have acted out of love, Tron. I have acted because I care."

Clu in his early days once turned to Tron and said with a serious face and tone "you are so beautiful."
