Have you ever considered using retro-reflective tape for your cosplay?
Yeah I've given it some thought! Probably will make a costume that uses that, at some point.
Obstacle is that my aesthetics lean very much toward the complexity of 1982 circuits, which really work best as they were originally done, as ink lines on a spandex bodysuit-- trying to arrange tape into those patterns would be a nightmare, even before you get to the issue of being able to move while wearing the suit.
But I do still want to experiment with other techniques.
...If I had infinite time and sewing skill, I'd do sequins, or rhinestones. There's a figure skater who wore rhinestone lightlines on a Tron-inspired costume and I think it's amazing.
...If I'm making a costume solely for personal pleasure (and all the nsfw that could imply)... I'd use this.
see previous self-reblogs for more details about it, but... I do Tron-inspired cosplay too sometimes
My OC, "Aster"
And my other... OC? ...dunno if it's developed enough to call it an OC. Myabe it's just a pun. Crossover between Tron and the Minneapolis public transit system.
like they say at the last station... "end of line, man"
happy Tronsday, here's a little something* I drew earlier in the year!
(*lighting study/texture experimentation sketch that ended up becoming far more than just a sketch)
