More pride month posting. Checker’s strikes me as the type of guy to say things like “really? During pride month?” Whenever he has to do any work lmao. Probably pisses ed off❤️

Giving a few of the Clutzverse characters Pokémon!!

Details about why I chose each Pokémon under cut!

Gideon: I gave Gideon a klefki and a rotom, since he seems like the type to not care too much about the partnership of Pokémon/trainer and more about how useful they can be to him. He bought the klefki a while back to keep a hold of important keys and keycards (I mean, who knew they had an affinity for all forms of keys!). He found the rotom near the Gillman Industries building not long after he started work there; deciding to catch it in a sort of spur-of-the-moment. It’s a very useful Pokémon, he’s found that while most of its forms are only really useful as sentient appliances, the lawnmower form is useful for…work…on occasion. It’s fast and pretty intimidating, so it’s a good option for completely normal and not at all illegal work meetings/negotiations! Don’t tell him I told you this but he is very attached to both of them. He’d never admit it though.

Arthur: I decided to give Arthur a pawmot. If you’re wondering…yes, it’s mainly because they have similar hair. But pawmot’s energetic nature (no pun intended) provides a good contrast to his more down to earth and nervous (?) personality. He got it as a pawmi in high school, and leveled it up slowly throughout the rest of highschool and college. He named it the ever-so-creative name of “Paw-Paw”. It tends to get annoyed when Arthur gets in his head and will do almost anything to stop him.

Cameron: Cam gets a larger main team than the others which consists of: Crobat, an Alolan rattata, and a herdier. The crobat and rattata are riffing off of Pokémon that Team Rocket grunts commonly have—because he’s sort of a grunt for Gideon…in his own way. I made the rattata Alolan because I wanted to give his team a little more individuality. The herdier is here solely because of vibes, to be entirely honest. Pubby. He got the crobat around when he started college, he…may have captured it while it was asleep so it did take a while for him to get along with it properly. I’d imagine he found the rattata on one of his gigs that went wrong. Something about illegal Pokémon smuggling, but something happened and the majority of the Pokémon were discarded. The rattata almost immediately leaped out of its box, firmly attached itself to Cameron’s pant leg and things went on from there. And he’s had the herdier since he was a kid; the only reason it’s not a stoutland is because it somehow ate an everstone. Don’t ask.

Ed: Ed was the hardest one to pick Pokémon for. I decided to go with floette and venonat. Floette because I feel like he likes houseplants, but has never been able to keep one alive. He’s done it all; water a plastic plant for too long before realising that it wasn’t growing, not watering a real plant for too long before realising that it was dead, accidentally setting a succulent on fire because his windows were somehow angled in the perfect formation to make a concentrated beam of sunlight. The normal things. Venonat because…I think he would like how fluffy it is, and I think he needs the chaos it causes in his life. Even if it is already comically chaotic. He found the floette as a flabébé on the way to work one day and accidentally fed it so many rare candies that it evolved. And the venonat? It was a pest in his house, and scared him so bad that he accidentally hit it with an electric fly swat shockingly hard. So hard, infact, that it fainted. He felt bad so he decided to catch it and take it to a Pokémon centre.
