This was probably not a wise decision, Optimus thought as he reclined on the emperor's well-padded berth, but he hadn't been making terribly many of those lately so he would have been nothing if not consistent.

Starscream had, in private, asked him to indulge him in a little recreation.... As a show of good will, he had promised, with one of those knowing smirks that Optimus remembered from Starscream's delegate days way back when.

He knew he needed to keep his wits about him, to keep an eye out for danger, even with his spike enveloped in the warm comfort of a valve and handsome mech riding eagerly. Unfortunately, he wasn't sure what form that danger might take; it could have been anything from the entrancing sight of well-polished wings bobbing back and forth to a knife in the neck to absolutely nothing at all.

Perhaps he was overthinking the situation again.

Thanks Burtie! I'm not comparatively that unhinged about Three, at least I don't think so, but I need to know what makes it TICK. Why is it like this? What is it thinking at all times? I want to dissect it. Also it is described as a baby deer and that is SO cute. Aside all that I feel like Three doesn't have that much characterisation going on, and that means its a great space to play in, look it has pockets! Plus, SecUnits come prepackaged with free trauma hehehe

Candy flavoured. There is only one gelato place I go to that has this but I love it. It tastes like willy wonka's dreams.

Boysenberry! My go-to flavour elsewhere, its got a nice sweetness and just a little bit of tartness.

I'm going to break the rules a bit and post a cut section instead of a sentence or three from a thing that will actually get published—here's a piece of The SecUnit Job that doesn't fit the flow of the fic anywhere (post reveal but not set during a specific part of the heist) but which I can't bear to let languish:

I seriously didn’t know why humans asked that question, they always asked whatever they wanted no matter what I said. I gave in to the inevitable. “Sure.”

“Who did the walls on your—“ He stumbled over the word ‘augments.’ “Who did your firewalls? I took a peek at them earlier. Looking at this—“ He waved a hand at the display surface. “—they’re not entirely your work. And they’re not company tech, that’s for sure.”

“A friend.” I said, since a certain Asshole Research Transport wasn’t here to make a big deal out of it.

He laughed. “I’m not sure if I want to meet that friend or stay far, far away.”

I imagined what ART would say about Hardison’s work. “How comfortable are you with criticism?”

“Constructive?”

“No.”

“I’ll keep my distance then.”

I shrugged. “You both like Worldhoppers.”

A Madness of Angels is for sure my favorite first time read this year! the whole Matthew Swift series lives rent free in my brain now and AMoA hooked me so much I read them all in like a week and a half
