Hi guys! Today I’m sharing you some tips on how to save some money! (based on my experiences when I was in college)
Leave some money at home.
Sometimes when you see your wallet full, it’s tempting to spend on anything you like. As long as you know you have enough money, you can never stop yourself from buying something (well, based on experience). I found a way to fix this and it is to leave some money at home. Only grab money that will be enough for the day (fare, lunch money or for something you need to buy that’s school related or for groceries). That way, you stop yourself from spending too much and only spend on the necessities.
Drop spare change in your piggy bank.
Force yourself to have a piggy bank and everyday drop in a few coins or a dollar. At the end of the month or year, you’ll be surprised how much you’ve saved.
Always have packed lunch or water bottle.
Not only it is good for the environment, it is a great saving technique! You can save a couple bucks by bringing your own lunch or water! If you don’t have time to prepare for your food, a water bottle is enough for you to save a few change!
Look for places that have affordable meals.
I live in the Philippines and there are a bunch of places near my university where I can eat meals that are super delicious and can make me super full for just 50-70PHP instead of cafeteria food that’s worth 100+PHP that has little serving and doesn’t taste nice. Go look for places that can also accept student discounts!
Keep tract on what you’re spending.
Have a spending tracker in your bujo. List down all the things you spend in a day or month, so you can budget your money and don’t overspend.
I hope you find this helpful!
