All the interviews, archival footage, clips, and its overall sense of history gives viewers a broad overview of how television tracked cultural shifts and changes through comedy. Produced by veteran television reporter Bill Carter, who literally wrote the book(s) on the topic, it’s impressive how exhaustive the series gets in order to give a proper overview of late night.
