50+ Sub-Hobby Traits (Sims 2)

There are 10 hobbies (cuisine, film & literature, tinkering, sports, music and dance, fitness, arts & crafts, science, games, and nature) and 18 interest categories (sci-fi, culture, environment, paranormal, health, fashion, politics, sports, school, animals, toys, money, entertainment, work, crime, food, travel, and weather).  Here are 50+ trait tokens featuring various sub-hobbies – these are meant to compliment the original hobby categories and let players assign specific hobby-related interests to their sims. The Sub-Hobby Project comes from the collective brainstorming of @grilledcheese-aspiration, @slyndseysims @gayars and @anachronisims. TS4-to-TS2: 140 Traits (Sims 2)

While there are hundreds of traits in Sims 4, many redundant items were eliminated for this project, and some were edited for clarity. TSM-to-TS2: Medieval Traits (Completers)

Published: 1-9-2025 (via Discord) | Updated: 2-3-2025 SUMMARY Here are 32 traits (inventory objects – “tokens”) taken from Sims Medieval (EA/Maxis/Sims Studio, 2011). They use their original icons and descriptions. There are over 60 traits in the game originally, but many have already been made/converted by Cedanyblee (2020), Laura & Mortia (2020A, 2020B, 2020C), Sun & Moon Star Factory (2021-2022; 2023), Fire Flower (2021), and others. Custom historical-fantasy traits are included in the new collection file for convenience. This set only includes traits which have NOT been made already. Traits Project: Collection File Change Log

Published: 3-2-2024 | Updated: N/A SUMMARY I try to reuse the original collection file for all trait-related items. Here is a running list of everything that it includes. Traits are organized into groups based on their game of origin and style. In each group, they are arranged in alphabetical order by their original name – keep that in mind if you use renamed or replacement items. Example: If you replaced kleptomaniac with swiper (Veronavillequiltingbee), it will show up with other traits that start with the letter K, not S. Occult & Magic Traits

Some are taken from other games in the simsverse (especially Sims 4) and others were made for my own storylines. Although this set is not a recreation, details in the artwork and descriptions are heavily inspired by afro-centric traditions. There are 6 BLOODLINE traits meant to indicate the maximum power and/or skill level sims can achieve – chaotic, weak, average, strong, ancient, and quantum gene. See descriptions - some of these are meant to be rare.

Next, there are 12 ELEMENTAL GIFT traits which indicate what kind of supernatural a sim is and their potential abilities – bloodborne, earthborne, fireborne, floraborne, grimborne, hellborne, moonborne, spiritborne, starborne, stormborne, sunborne, and waterborne. Elemental gifts are meant to compliment alignments. I recommend THIS mod (Arek_91, 2010) to prevent changes in alignment from neutral spells – “good witches will stay good and evil will stay evil.” Use the No Witch Names mod (Cyjon, 2010) to get rid of the automatic “good,” “neutral,” and “evil,” titles. You can apply these to occults of all kinds. In my game, vampires are bloodborne, plantsims are floraborne, werewolves are moonborne, and aliens/spellcasters can be just about any type. Sims with the ancient bloodline trait are unique because they can have up to three elemental gift traits instead of the usual one. They’d rank alongside avatar sims if you use @jellymeduza’s Bending Mods (2019).

Lastly, there are 18 OTHER traits representing various roles, careers, and magical skills – animal whisperer, apparition, attuned, chased by death, macabre, majister, medium, mystic, mythlore fan, necromancer, reaper, reborn, sage, second sight, sentry, siren, supernatural healer, and tech bender. Some of these - such as attuned, mystic,or mythlore fan - can easily be used on non-occult sims.
