Did anyone order an elaborate eo au where Elliot never gets Kathy pregnant when they're kids and instead he meets Olivia when they're 18-19, when he's just joined the Marines and she's off at college, and they fall in love and end up married and he still has five kids only with Olivia this time, and without the immense pressure of trying to provide for a family at age 18 he listens when she encourages him to pursue something that matters to him, not just follow in his father's footsteps, and he becomes a high school teacher/football coach, but Liv still joins the NYPD, still makes it to SVU, only with the family and the extensive support system she always deserved and yes I have decided on names for their children and there's a really great moment when Barba finds himself at a high school football game and can't even begin to process it and yes I have worked out the Lewis thing in this verse I told you it was elaborate and anyway this is a picture of Coach Stabler and his good luck charm from the yearbook:

ok fam lemme hit y’all with a question

coachverse

we are at an impasse here. i have big exciting stuff planned for once we get to 2.0, but obviously we’re only in s2 at the moment so that’s a long way off.

there are lots of things that happen over the next ten years of their lives, obvi. they have two more kids, and lots of cases, and there’s some big upheaval in their personal lives, and obvi there’s stuff like sealview and what the cases look like with jimmy there instead of fin.

when we get to 2.0 we have the fun of liv meeting new team members, new team members discovering for the first time what liv’s home life looks like, seeing liv be mama to four older children, see liv and el being really established and comfortable and steady in their relationship. there is also an actual story arc coming in 2.0 that’s going to be several chapters instead of quick snapshots as we breeze through time.

so here’s my question.

do you want to walk through these next ten years in coachverse? do you want to see the next babies being born, do you want to see more arguments and more making up, do you want to see the 1.0 cases? 

or, do you want to jump to 2.0, see some new faces, and get into an actual story arc? all the stuff that could have been covered in chapters about 1.0 that y’all need to know about can be filled in along the way if we jump to 2.0. 

i feel like people are a lil bored with coachverse which i understand bc nothing is really happening right now. it’s just lining up the dominoes. we could continue to do so, so that you could actually walk through those moments with eo, or we could jump to 2.0 where i knock all the dominoes down. 

do y’all have a strong preference?

Leah, HoF is soo perfect already and Liv just now joined SVU. It's extremely entertaining to see how much this happy Liv differs from the one we know, and how much she's still the same. I just wish I was better at picturing original characters, like baby Sean and Jimmy. It's one of the reasons I usually prefer fic to regular books, ya know?

ok so first of all, thank you so much!! i am so glad you’re enjoying this story 😘😘😘😘 i’m having so much fun writing it, and i am so excited to bring y’all along for the ride. and i love the idea of exploring what changes if liv has a stable family life, and what remains the same, you know?

Heard unanswered prayers on the way home from work and can't stop thinking about like. Kathy's son joining the football team and Coach El has no idea who this kid is bc the kid has his father's last name until after one game he gets introduced to the kid's mom and it's her, it's Kathy, and there's that moment where he's looking at her and thinking about the road not taken but then Liv walks up with all four of their boys and his heart just settles bc he knows he's right where he's supposed to be
