Hands Needed || Abigail & Marlin

As many employees as Marlin had under his faithful wing, there were still unfortunate gaps in their availability where they weren’t able to work at certain times. Monday nights was a big, gaping hole. All of them had other jobs, and those jobs apparently came before a shithole of a bar.
He understood. Not everyone was like him and felt at home in a dive.
Still, it meant putting his managerial clipboard down in his office and rolling up his sleeves to serve drinks and pocket tips. He wasn’t as charming as Angela might be or as amusing as Ibuki, but he did his best and the regulars weren’t complaining.
On a quiet hour, where the patrons were served and not particularly talkative, Marlin leaned on the bar, looking over his shoulder at the television. It was already raining outside, and the weather channel whispered of a typhoon starting early the next day. At least I’ll get a couple of days home. He’d just have to stay late boarding up the windows here tonight.
The door chimed, and he looked at the purple-haired girl wandering in. Wasn’t familiar with her. When she reached the bar, he quirked a brow. “What’re you after tonight?”
