It is old, but is looking good so far. We shall see what happens.

Did lichen dyeing for the first time! The red jar/orange skein is blood root. All samples where collected in the 90's, it was fascinating.
I also got some very old cochineal to try dyeing with!
May I present: "Children's Hospital (Color Theory)" on Perendale
Getting mixed reviews in chat 😂
And of course:
"Ea-nāṣir Copper" on Jacob!
DYLTCOTS DYE IS UNDERWAY!! Fiber is Kent Romney, about 460 grams-ish total. So it'll end up being two ~230g full gradients, one for me, and one for my beloved cyber stalker who jump-scared everyone in our group chat earlier with this notification
My stock solution is uhh old so some of the colors may behave unpredictability once heat is applied but, you know, it's unpredictable when it's fresh too, just different unpredictable
DYLTCOTS rinse water is a beautiful maroon in case you were wondering (you weren't)
BUBBLY BUBBLY TOIL AND TROUBLY or whatever
The dyeing of the Halloween wool that I already posted the finished yarn from 🎃🐑
So. Tried another Hypomyces lactifluorum (lobster mushroom) pink dye, after accidentally forming a lake on mine last time. Started off nice and pink, I was expecting good results. Got a little concerned by the initial pigment uptake.
It turned out vivid! Not as pink as I may have wanted, but a fabulous salmon color nonetheless! The first photo is the out of the dyepot no rinse, the second is after rinsing. The small skein is a little spin I had to do because I forgot to grab a undyed sample before tossing it into the pot, it is unmordanted so did not take dye as well.
Then my purple onion skins may have been overcooked and I got a brown. •́ ‿ ,•̀
I did a dye with Echinodontium tinctorium after soaking it for 2.5 months in a basic solution. I did not get as dark of color as expected, but I did get color! Next time I will have to break the fungus down more and then see of that helps, the dyebath is going to be laked, filtered and then dried and stored for later use in pigment making.
My dyes from demoing at the fungi festival this weekend.
