The next day, Iseul, Megan, and Emily head to Finchwick to visit Maya and Kaitlyn Feldman-Chen. Maya and Kaitlyn are Megan's ex wife Tess's aunties, but they love Emily, Safiya, and Amir as much as their love their own grandkids Piper and Hamuera, and so they asked the whole family to visit. Megan greets Maya outside. "Thank you for inviting us. Emmy really wanted to see you and Kaitlyn," Megan says. "Of course, Megs. I know things were, uh, complicated, between you and my niece. But all of you are welcome in our house," Maya says kindly and Megan smiles.

Megan heads inside while Maya goes to check on the family dog Roxy. Emily is in the living room with Kaitlyn and Iseul. The two of them are getting along pretty well, and Kaitlyn's eyes light up as Iseul tells her about a punk show she went to. "I took Maya to a Denimzens show when we first started dating! We went on a double date with our friends Salim and Miko in San My," she recalls with a smile. "I can't believe you were cool once, auntie Katie," Emily half jokes and Kaitlyn gives her a playful stinkeye but laughs.

Kaitlyn smiles at Megan as she joins them on the couch. "So Emmy, you're going to UBrite in the fall? That'll be a lot of fun, and maybe you'll meet someone new. I know I dated a lot of cute girls in college before I met your auntie Maya in my twenties," Kaitlyn half teases. Emily bites her lip, fiddling with her friendship bracelet as she thinks of a glasses wearing brown eyed person instead. "Oh, yeah, maybe." She says, Iseul clocks her discomfort and quickly adds. "Yeah, plus college has so many amazing extracurricular activities. I took welding and sewing, both were useful as heck later. Maybe the sewing more for everyday purposes, but I did use the fact that I'm good at welding to woo your Mom," And Emily laughs at the last part.

Edit: the last two photos are just of Iseul going into auntie mode with all the fur babies (cat Coco and dogs Cosmo, and Roxy), plus a photo of the family photo wall. So many memories are on this wall, and I'm glad (🤞) that the blackout bug never got to these photos even if it did ruin a bunch of others. 😅

The next few weeks pass by slowly for Maya and Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn supports Maya as she grieves her mom, and the two also adopt Roxy, Alicia’s dog*. They start to plan Alicia’s funeral but two of their pets get sick, and Roxy needs to be spayed so they pack up the furballs and take them to the vet. Roxy goes in to get spayed first and Maya runs into Iseul, her niece Tess and niece-in-law Megan’s friend, in the hallway as she waits. “Hey Maya,” Iseul says. “Hey Iseul, how are you?” Maya asks, “Good, how are you?” Iseul asks. “Okay, as much as I can be,” Maya says with a small smile. “Yeah, Dani told me about Alicia passing. I’m so sorry Maya. If there’s any way I can help you or Kaitlyn or if you need to talk, I’m here. I lost my parents too so I understand how hard it is,” Iseul says gently. “Yeah, it’s so tough. One day I feel okay and the next day I don't even know how to go on but I somehow just do.” She says with a sigh and Iseul nods. 

The two continue to chat as Roxy, grumpy from her cone, and Iseul’s cat Aloo come over. Maya pets Aloo and coos at him as Iseul pets Roxy. "Aloo is a fitting name. His spots look like potatoes." Maya says to Iseul and she grins. "Thanks, my fiancée Grace named him." She says and Maya nods. "Oh yeah, Luna told me about her. How are you two doing?” She asks and Iseul smiles. “Good, just planning the wedding still. We’re holding a small ceremony in March and then we’ll go on a honeymoon to Tomarang for a month, and then maybe we’ll move to Simland.” She says lightly and Maya nods, noticing the hesitation on Iseul’s face but deciding not to mention it. The vet calls Iseul in, and she smiles at Maya before picking up Aloo. “See you, Maya,” she says and Maya nods. “See you, Iseul.” She says as another vet calls her and Cosmo over.
