Things he learned about Jack Mitchell that made Gideon care

Goes to the clubs in New Baghdad to get fucked up often times requiring Gideon to go find who he followed home like a lost puppy

Jack won’t go to R&D about his arm even if it’s delivering arrhythmia inducing jolts of electricity into his body. Gideon realizes and promptly freaks out forcing him into the jeep to go to medical.

Actively sneaks out forcing Gideon to track him down at Will’s old apartment

Gideon found out he smokes but only on Will’s death date

Ever since accidentally swinging on Gideon in the night during a ptsd episode. He refuses to sleep with his prosthetic attached.

Jack during the first few months at ATLAS disassembled his weapon and hid it around his on base apartment. He did this so he’d have time to talk himself out of it. Gideon saw the parts and immediately recognized it for what it was. He made a conscious effort after that to show he cares.

Jack once called him darlin in a southern drawl and Gideon liked it. He’d been in a beanie and Gideon was fairly sure the drunk man mistook him for Will.

Their word of affirmation to exchange with each other is ‘trust me’

Gideon witnessed Jack be pinned between car and wall and for a solid couple minutes freaked out. Even as it was obvious that Jack was ok.

Finally started to bond with him then made an effort to include him in everything.

Gideon is convinced Mitchell has been enhanced beyond the exo suit. Which would explain how he managed to survive being pinned between an up-armored car and wall.

Jack once told Gideon ‘I would die for you’ and Gideon responded with ‘how about living for me instead. You’ve seen too much death already mate.’

After the Detroit mission he ended up with a severe concussion then amnesia and seizures as a result. He recovered with most of his memories. But even now.. all Mitchell has to do is scream and Gideon comes running.

Had a nightmare that they lost Mitchell to a bad episode of PTSD. It didn’t help that Mitchell chose that night to escape to Will’s old apartment. When Gideon found him he just started crying and refused to let the younger out of his sight.
