✨ He may be a strong and fearless solider who carries leadership while he's on the job, but when it comes to you, he has a whole different persona. Think golden retriever.
✨ He absolutely folded on first sight. Could hardly get a word out when attempting to have small talk. Stumbling over a few words with a wide grin on his face. Poor thing hasn't fell this hard ever. Harper had to help him out when he was trying to get your number. Harper was his best wingman throughout the whole process of the talking stage.
✨ There is no doubt it would be impossible for him to help carry you through any self-consciousness you may have about your body. Will do anything to turn your frown into a smile.
✨ If you happen to be on the bigger side, he won't hesitate to pick you up no matter how many times you debate him about accidentally hurting him. He sees nothing wrong with having some extra meat on your bones. Gives him more of a reason to be handsy with you in bed.
✨ Will often facetime or talk over the phone before the day ends. Sometimes the phone sessions would last more than half an hour either updating each other on personal lives or venting. He enjoys hearing updates from your visits when you stop by to see Woods. It gives David reassurance.
✨ Woods likes to sometimes tell you about David's embarrassing stories growing up. Nothing too bad. It's just funny seeing David's face get flushed when he talks about how one time, on the way to school, he brought a stray cat into class for show and tell. Frank got a phone call from the principal that day. He allowed David to keep the cat though.
✨ Speaking of cats, despite him looking like the type of person who would own a dog, he owns a cat. The cat was actually a birthday present he got for you one year. He treats his adopted small feline like a human baby. Whenever he's home, his cat will find itself lying beside him or in his lap. They like to follow him around the house quite often as well. You find it adorable when he tries to discipline them when they make a mess out of the litter box.
✨ You tell David that Woods likes to tease him whenever his subordinates aren't around, he tends to be lovey-dovey when you're with him. Woods also tells you during the dating stage, David would never stop talking about you to him. He finds it cute how you managed to win his heart so easily.
✨ Definitely likes to surprise you when he comes home after being away for a while. He tells you that he'll be home next week but doesn't say when exactly. He loves seeing the look on your face every time he surprises you at the front door.
✨ He's very touch starved after being away for some time, so expect extra physical touch from him. Spends each time with you as if he's not going to return home for his next mission. Expect lots of pampering from him.
✨ Loves bringing back souvenirs from places he's been. Sometimes its random things. If you ask for the meaning behind the random gift he brought back, he'll only tell you "It looked cool." Meaningful gifts however, he tells you they remind him of you.
✨ Quality time is his strongest love language. The two of you don't have to talk up a storm to spend time with one another. The two of you can be on your phone with the TV playing in the background occasionally sharing each other funny videos. He enjoys having your presence nearby.
✨ He may find those Hallmark and Lifetime movies to be corny and repetitive, but it secretly became his guilty pleasure to watch with you over the holidays. Not even Harper knows about it. Majority of it is him making fun of scenes. Every year it becomes increasingly difficult for him to deny the allegations.
✨ He loves taking you out on walks when neither of you can sleep. Something about the late night being perfect for nothing to disturb the peace. He also loves driving around looking at Halloween and Christmas decorations.
✨ He's a heavy-set person and most of the time he is a heavy sleeper. So having him lay on you while you're running your nails through his hair, you're asking to have no way of getting out of his grasp. You'll have to wait until he wakes up.
✨ Can bake, but decorating it to perfection? Can't do it to save his life. He baked cupcakes one time with you to take to Woods, and Woods could tell whose cupcakes had frosting smudged on the wrapper and overdone with sprinkles. Woods honestly doesn't think his work is terrible, in fact he probably would have burned them if he were to try to attempt it. He finds it cute seeing David trying new domestic activities with you and teases him about it as well.
Despite the resentment, David deeply wanted his father present, even making him promise to quit the CIA, showing he didn't want to lose him.
During the events of Black Ops 7 (let's forget about the "problems" of this game), David experienced powerful, almost surreal connections with his "dead" father, suggesting he longed for guidance and presence.
