An optional, but modestly amusing, visual realization of some of Jonathan Coulton's music into a graphic novel.
An amusing, intelligent sense of humor keep the somewhat overstuffed and underdveloped final act of Code Monkey Save World engaging.
More Coulton song references, some inspired twists, and a continued sense of comedy make this series' third issue a good recovery for Code Monkey Save World.
The second issue slows down to explore backstory, which is amusing in the case of Laura and Skullcrusher, but the Skip and Matilde's part as well as Code Monkey's backstory isn't quite as engaging, being less connected to the songs.
The soundtrack to the graphic novel happens to be both the inspiration for the graphic novel as well as a great introductory compilation of Jonathan Coulton's narrative songwriting.
The beginnings of an amusing treat for fans of Jonathan Coulton.
