Thank you Holly! Sorry it took so long.

1. Tell us about your current project(s)  – what’s it about, how’s progress, what do you love most about it?

Well for DA I have plans on finishing my modern college AU fic Dear Fen'harel, which I feel like is this fic most people know me for, lol It's been like four years since I started it and it's so close! I would have finished it earlier if it hadn't been for this school year honestly.

I also want to finish up my Solas/Cadash fic, Thick as Thieves because that one is getting close too and I've been dying to write the sequel for it for a long time.

Then I have my TFA AU Reylo fic that has been sitting for so long people have been asking me if its abandoned >.> In this one, Rey leaves Jakku before TFA to work as a technician and she keeps getting dragged into cleaning up the messes Kylo Ren makes in his temper tantrums while she befriends an unmasked Kylo, having no idea who he is.

And THEN I have my "Goblin fic" as my friends call it, which is fic for an obscure book series called The Hollow Kingdom where the protagonist has to fight off a Goblin king who intends to kidnap and marry her. Spoiler alert -- it's very enemies to lovers and they do get married and the fic is an insight to the early days of their marriage.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

I am DYING to finish Dear Fen'harel, now that we are finally at the point where all the juicy reveals are going to happen. I've been waiting for this moment for like FIVE YEARS.

18. (My choice!) Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.

Dear Fen'harel has a few, lol. I have written some absolute filth for Zevran and Ellana because I got blindsided by their chemistry even though they aren't supposed to get together at all, ooops. That's called Something Good Can Work.

There is an AU for Ellana/Abelas where she house sits for Solas and Abelas crashes the party because he lost his job and is bumming off Solas now. They have only a handful of scenes together in DF but I've always enjyoed writing their subtle kinship being two Dalish elves alone and away from home, despite their very obvious differences.

And I really want to write out an AU for Solas/Dorian because I also got hooked in their friendship and shared history in this fic.

Thick as Thieves has a high school AU that I wrote and loved that kind of spawned an ot4 with @cartadwarfwithaheartofgold's Maria and Varric that exists exclusively in a google doc that I also write in when I'm bored.

Fandom: Star Wars sequel trilogy

Pairing: Rey x Ben Solo/Kylo Ren

Rating: Teen

Summary: It starts out as coincidence. Rey, newly hired maintenance worker for the First Order, just happens to be nearby when Kylo Ren destroys another room in a fit of rage – a “Code Ren”.

She does such a good job, however, that she becomes their go-to maid every time Kylo Ren has a temper tantrum. Sure, it may be good job security, but it also sucks getting dragged out of dinner or sleep just to clean up after a grown man with the emotional control of a toddler. It gets real old real fast.

Only two things make this whole affair even remotely bearable: her new friend, Stormtrooper FN 2187 and visits from a mysterious, dark-haired stranger who has an uncanny knack for finding her after a “Code Ren” and brings her gifts

Six Sentence Sunday -- Code Ren

“I think we should try something,” he says. “But I need you to trust me or it won’t work.”

“What do you want to do?”she asks slowly.

“I think the Force has been trying to connect us. I think we should let it. But it would involve you being in my mind and me being in yours.”

That part of her inside practically lunges towards this idea with joyful eagerness. The rational part of Rey recoils. Kylo’s mind must be a dark, dark place and she has never been so vulnerable with another person in her life. Not to mention all the things that could go wrong. What if he causes brain damage? What if she causes some kind of brain damage? She doesn’t know anything about the Force!

“Is it going to hurt?” she asks.

“If would if I had to force my way through. But not if you let me in. That’s why you have to trust me.”

It’s a colossally stupid idea.

“How do I do it?”

Sneak Peak Sunday -- Code Ren

“Focus,” Kylo murmurs.

She swallows and reaches her hand out. The items wiggle and shudder but it’s hard to keep every shape in her mind so she can target them and the Force keeps dancing away from her, slipping like sand through her fingers –

“Focus, Rey –”

He’s close enough that his voice vibrates through his chest against her back. She can think of nothing else but the heat of him behind her, his presence in the Force a bright star that blots out everything else. Sense memories flash through her mind – the gentle press of his fingers as he applied bacta to her side, the sound of his breathing during meditation, the way he loomed over her as they fought over Luke’s lightsaber.

The shapes rattle and shake and a few spill onto the floor. Rey lets out a howl of frustration.

“You need to keep your mind on the here and now,” says Kylo and she could throttle him.

Hello! 💡🔬🎢 for the writing asks

Hi! Thank you so much! I already answered the last two, but I really like this question so I’m excited to answer it

💡-What was the motivation behind the story? 

DF -- I will admit I read the famous Message Sent and I loved how seamlessly Inquisition fit in a college setting. I had been chewing around on a version for Dear Daddy Long Legs because that book is perfectly obscure so that the premise would seem fresh and new to most people and also perfectly adaptable to the modern age. But I had been hesitant to post Dragon Age fic because there is just SO MUCH Solavellan that I thought no one would ever pay attention to my fic. When I wrote for X-men, there was almost no Peter & Eric Father and Son kind of fics so I was filling an empty niche. But it’s not like that with Solavellan.

And then Message Sent never got updated (and STILL IS NOT UPDATED) and so I was like fuck it, I’ll write it,  I don’t care if no one reads it. I’m still shocked at how much its popularity has grown. I went on the Solasmancers discord server and saw how many times people were talking about how much they loved my fic and I like, legit cried.

I’ve already touched on how I crafted Ellana to be an antithesis on what I couldn’t related to in a lot of OCs and so I also crafted this story to be everything I would want in a modern setting. Also, I miss college and I get to relive it a bit when I write this story.

Thick as Thieves -- I think I also touched on the potential of a unique relationship a dwarf could have with Solas in another ask, but my main motivation was that I always play a dwarf when I can in DA and I was super pissed that Solas wouldn’t look twice at me because I wasn’t a slender elf girl. And so I started thinking how someone like Solas could potentially fall in love with a dwarf when he’s so stuck on the past and his own status quo and thus this story was born.

Code Ren - So I always liked the Matt the Radar Tech fics where he meets while they both work on the ship, but I never saw a variation of just Rey working aboard the Finalizer while he’s still Kylo Ren. Then I thought it would be funny to write a crack fic where Rey is the one who has to clean up the mess Kylo leaves behind when he gets his temper tantrums and then the idea was born that she gets to know Kylo sans mask. It was supposed to end with both of them escaping the ship with Poe but my brain had other ideas.

Dear Fen’Harel

🥀 How would your OC decorate a notebook or journal? What kind of things are written in there? Could you give an example of a nice entry? 

Ellana’s a nerd, right. So she doesn’t keep a journal or diary, but she definitely hand-writes all of her notes even with her fancy laptop because that’s how she’s always done it.  She’s not really an artist, even though she loves art, but she would definitely color code them by class or subject and label them. As a kid, she definitely would have been one those types who made the collages out of cut up magazine pictures.

💫What is your favourite fact about this character and why? 

Something I love about Ellana because it’s something I admire in real life is her practical knowledge. I believe that Dalish and my version of Modern Dalish know how to make anything out of anything. They would not be a consumerist culture. Even in the modern era, the Dalish make their own clothes, furniture, and now how to repurpose just about everything. Ellana is a sort of jack of all trades. She’s not specialized in anything, but she knows how to wood work, metal work, solder, sew, work on older cars, ect. She can take pieces of broken machinery or furniture and jerry rig it into something useful.

It’s endlessly fascinating to people like Josephine or Dorian, who grew up with such silver spoons that they would just go out and buy a brand new whole replacement unit. Meanwhile, Ellana would take it apart, find out what’s broken, and figure out a replacement.

Code Ren

🌹 Where in the world does your OC feel most at home? Is there any reason why? If it’s not the place they were born, where were they born? Is there a certain somebody that makes them feel at home where ever they may be? What does home mean to them?

I think the Falcon would be the place Rey feels the most at home, even in regular canon. For my fic, it’s a legendary classic and dependable, it’s old enough for the tech to look and feel familiar to her, and it’s small enough to fee protective and big enough not to be claustrophobic. I think growing up in the desert in that AT-AT, Rey would feel exposed and vulnerable in wide open spaces. I know that the Finalizer felt like an endless maze to her and she didn’t much care for it.

I don’t think people make Rey feel at home because she’s grown up alone. Even with Finn and Ben and Han, she would prefer to have a place to herself. That’s another thing she didn’t like about the Finalizer -- all the people around her all the damn time.

🍂 Does your OC enjoy hugs? What do they do as a show of affection for: their friends, their family, their significant other(s) or for strangers? Over all what are they like with recieving affection from others? 

Lol, you can tell in TFA that Rey is very unused to and uncomfortable with physical affection (stop holding my hand!). I think she is someone who prefers to initiate touch rather than have a hug sprung on her. But I think once she gets used to the idea of having another person to care about, she would crave physical affection like any other touch-starved person. I think Rey’s love language is acts of service and words of affection, but Finn’s is definitely affection and touch so she would get used to it, haha.

🌾 Describe your OC through the eyes of someone absolutely head-over-heels in love with them 

Lol this is just Solas the entire damn fic! He is very much fixated on her smile and how it reaches her eyes and lights them up,  which is probably something he’s not used to seeing, dealing with the Evanuris and their dangerous court intrigue. He also is obsessed a little bit with her hair, which is wild and curly and barely under control and nothing like the aristocratic elf hair he grew up seeing.

Solas makes a lot of comparisons between Shay and the sun, which can be very apt. She’s warm and bright, but if you’ve lived in the dark for a long time, it’s a brightness that hurts to look at. And it’s dangerous to spend a lot of time exposed to it. Yet it feeds him a nourishment (which we all know is vitamin D!)  that he can’t get anywhere else. Once you’re used to the sun, it’s hard to go without it. Really the metaphor writes itself.

🌸 What are some of their favourite things and why? List as many as you can think of!

Shay loves --

1. Card games, especially the kind where you can cheat or lose clothing

2. Hot fresh bread

3. The color yellow

4. Dirty jokes

5. Jokes that sound like the punchline will be dirty but then it’s clean and you’re dirty for thinking that it would be dirty

6. Stories, especially tall tales

9. Climbing up to very high places so she can feel tall
