Today is International Workers’ Day. It is also the day we hope to hear from Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro on whether they will take the high road, do the right thing, and demonstrate their stated values of caring about the workers as the lifeblood of the company by voluntarily recognizing our union.
We have been blown away by the outpouring of public support we have received. As of this morning we have over 30,000 signatures of support on our petition. We are so thankful to every single person who signed, every person who shared our petition and all those who lent their voices in videos, posts, and comments to amplify our cause.
If you’re attending MagicCon Vegas this weekend and want to show your support, we encourage you to wear something red on Saturday in solidarity with UWOTC-CWA! While WOTC and Hasbro will still have the option to voluntarily recognize us at any time before an NLRB election, we have already established we have a super-majority of employees committed to our cause. Arena workers have shown that we want this, and recognizing our union is the best way to foster a workplace where every voice feels heard, valued, and supported.
We strongly encourage that Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro leadership demonstrate their dedication to having a direct relationship with their employees by voluntarily recognizing our union before the close of business today, International Workers’ Day. Commit to meeting us at the bargaining table in good faith, hearing our voices, and finding a better path forward together.
