11. Tell me about your favorite character you ever played
My favorite character I’ve ever played is actually Sophie I think! I hold many characters dear to my heart but Sophie was my first on Tumblr. And she ended up with tons of unique connections. Including a virus from the Tron universe and a mermaid (Attina actually!) who’s mun I ended up being great friends with and still talk to to this day! She’s also just a sweet kind and lovely character and I think often those are over looked in favor of other types.
15. Do you prefer group RPs or indie RPs?
I really love both. If I can get enough threads going I think I favor indie for the freedom of AUs and also I love shipping (who doesn’t though?) so it’s nice if I get the chance to ship with more than one person there’s no conflicts. Also not having to choose is nice for me because I’d feel like I’d offend someone if chose someone else.
29. What’s your favorite part about RPing?
All the different relationships that happen. (Not necessarily romantic!) Some of my favorites have been the really strange but lovely relationships. Like Sophie and Attina. Belle and Vanellope Von Schweetz. Minthe and Guy Gisbourne from freaking Robin Hood. All of these were such fun friendships and different entirely from each other. I miss them often. But, there’s more to come... surely!
22. Do you have any RP horror stories you’d be willing to share?
This should have been before 29 but I got realllllly into writing this so I’m tossing it under a read more because it’s... a lot.
Oh I have so many... I think honestly, my favorite ? to share because it was so just... baffling to me as a player is the tale of my "first” RP group I joined. For one, the admin was like 16 so I should have just ... not but this was years ago and I had never rped in a closed group before. The first group was open and sort of a combo of indie and group so it was a very different setting and why I say this was my first group because the other was more a directory of a set of canon characters for that fandom which was hella small anyway. This group though was a disney/ouat based RP group and the admin was a little odd at first? I think there was issue with my FC first and my best friend at the time was accepted while I wasn’t because of faceclaim things because she wanted me to use the CANON fc and I hadn’t even seen the show at the time so I didn’t know that and she said it was negotiable but like... it wasn’t. So that was red flag #1. #2 was that often times FCs for canon pairings were also pairings from movies or more particularly GLEE. And some characters that weren’t technically canon were paired because their fcs matched. She also used Lea Michele as like... Lilo I think? When we were like “okay but Lilo should be Hawaiian???” she didn’t care. But this was before anyone gave a shit so it passed without much issue aside from myself and a few others. She promised certain bios to be out and never did it in MONTHS of people asking her despite admitting she had free time. She had next to no FCs above the age of like 25 which was frustrating. Myself and another member became coadmins to help her and basically did all the work while she got most of the credit. That RP is actually where I started playing Lachesis, who actually, funny enough kind of got into this really random really sweet ship with Mike Wasowski. Which is HILARIOUS out of context but Lachesis was different back then, younger and was cursed to be like 20ish as was he so they meshed better than she likely would now. He was a flirt and she was a bookworm and they just kind of meshed really well. It was a lot of fun as a ship.. BUT his faceclaim was Josh Hutcherson, and Cecilia if I remember right? Whoever Mike flirts with in the Monsters Inc movie. Was Jennifer Lawrence. So of course the admin who had an obsession with JLaw reminded everyone SO OFTEN how much she DID NOT like Lachesis and Mike. Instead she liked the “canon” couple. Often sending in Magic!Anons which were a thing back then to make him kiss Cece, I think that happened two or three times via various events and stuff. I think her character even switched bodies with Mike and made it awkward and stuff like that? I don’t remember all the details but both Mike’s Mun and myself were pretty set on our ship sailing. So we let it happen but they always worked things out in the long run. FINALLY... the very last thing about this group that was the real horror story here... Said admin played Clotho, but lost muse for her at some point and dropped the character. Reopening it for anyone. She also took a hiatus at that point and sorta left it to me and the other admin who tried to contact her a few times but never got responses. So, after a bit and despite us asking the original admin for permission we accepted an app from one of the other members of the group. She fell in love with playing that character and had so much fun immediately. The character flourished.
And then the original admin came back. And demanded Clotho back. She said the member had to either give her back Clotho and if she didn’t have muse she’d just retire the character forever, or change the backstory and the fc because she wasn’t allowed this particular version. Who was very different from the original anyway because to be honest, the admin never followed her own bios. So everyone in that RP basically quit at the same time being like “No, that’s bullshit. Fuck that.” and left. We started our own RP with the changes that should have happened ages ago and it lasted for longer than hers. So you know what? It’s all good. It was just realllllly annoying back then.
I almost forgot... the admin played Mary Poppins and she was a total bitch. However, she said it was “because that’s how Mary is in the books” however, everyone else was required to follow the movie. Not original fairytales, or anything else. Especially with me as my characters who I tried to even just change the FC away from the show one and was told no. So like... double standards much? She was awful, but honestly... It’s been like... 6 years I think? I’m hoping she’s grown as a person since then if she’s still around.
FACES has one of those deep ass voices that just sounds dope as shit over a rap beat. In hip-hop, sometimes you just gotta be born with it, and FACES was definitely born with it.
