Agnolo Bronzino (1503-1572) Portrait of Guidobaldo della Rovere. I appear to be obsessed with men's codpieces! Oh dear! In any case, this particular portrait amuses me because of the expression on the dog's face. But, also because the codpiece looks as though it would roll out like those paper and plastic whistles some of us had as kids. You decide for yourself.
Some codpieces were empty – while others were used to store potpourri.

Diego and the rest of the Umbrella Academy are absolutely, definitely not employed by the Commission. Honestly, they're lucky the Commission hasn't sent assassins after them (not that they couldn't handle it, obviously, but it would be a pain), so actually having any kind of formal agreement between them is just never going to happen. But sometimes they do...favors.
The Commission seems to prefer Diego for these assignments, to his not-at-all-secret satisfaction.
