I have a whole character playlist on spotify because reasons. I had to pick ten songs out of this beast of a playlist. It was NOT easy.

The Explanations

Timebomb, Work This Body, Press Restart - Walk The Moon: Eva is a huge fan of Walk The Moon. That band is her life and she isn’t even sure why. Having broken up with her long term ex, Talking Is Hard became the album that got her through it “Work This Body” was on repeat when she got her hair cut short and dyed it green/mermaid colors. Whether it was just what happened to be on shuffle at the time, or intentional after that depressive slump was over she had a newfound love and respect for the band. After Talking is Hard came What If Nothing, another album that resonated deep within every fiber of her being. Timebomb was released at the start of 2019 and to this day Eva has not stopped listening to it multiple times a day. 

Pink Light, So Special - Muna: This is absolutely about every woman Eva’s ever had a crush on and got too scared to do anything about. Ever. She didn’t have Muna to hold her hand through her break up with her ex, but even long after the fact she has a lot of unanswered questions. So Special kind of helps heal the hurt she feels whenever something reminds her of that horrible time in her life. 

Television Romance - Pale Waves: For some reason this song really hit her hard when she was learning about Asexuality. Lyrically it definitely isn’t about that but for some reason this song held her hand through that time she came out and accepted this was who she was as well. Other than that, it's catchy and she’s almost always humming it to herself when she isn’t obsessing over Timebomb by Walk The Moon. 

Things We Do At Night - Blue October: If someone just casually heard all of the Indie related music in her music library knowing she’s a fan of Blue October might be a bit of a surprise. She loves them almost as much as Walk The Moon. Sway is her favorite album, and she also relates heavily to the chorus of Into the Ocean. 

Forgive Me Friend - Smith and Thell, Swedish Jam Factory, Alligator - Of Monsters And Men: Folk music holds a special place in Eva’s heart. She loves Kate Rusby, Alison Krauss, singers in that genre. This song directly falls into the ‘pop folk’ kinda category, Eva has absolutely adores Of Monsters and Men even though she can only name a few songs. She hasn’t listened to much of their albums but singles wise she loves them. Alligator is the better song between that and Dirty Paws, however Forgive me Friend reminded her of said song. 

Get Behind This - Flor: This song much like Timebomb was an instant hit. It’s catchy, oh so catchy. Like every other Flor song she just had bits of it stuck in her head. It’s a song she rather enjoys singing in front of the few people she allows to hear her sing.
