“how about we simply don’t ruin anything about your lovely outfit? how’s that sound?” the man chuckled, giving the blonde a gentle smile and a look full of admiration. she didn’t make it any easier to keep his mind out of the gutter, but he did his best. drinking less would help, probably, so that was something to take into consideration. “taking over the world sounds like a lovely plan, now that you mention it. but yes, why don’t we start with the bar area over there, then?” it was incredible just how much he laughed when he spoke with carlotta — and so organically, too. he smiled as she took him by the arm, really enjoying this kind of proximity he would’ve never gotten at the gym. she had an aura of happiness, that he could only hope was as sincere as it looked, as sometimes he saw some sadness in her eyes. he hated to ignore it, but he knew it wasn’t his place. much less so if he wasn’t invited into her space like that. “you can get anything you want, lottie.” his words were some kind of promise, the weight of them falling on his shoulders moments after speaking them. only to him. but if he could, if he had met her before, he would give her anything, absolutely anything she asked for. carlotta had managed to make him look forward to the next day after the third time he spoke to her at the gym, and had remained to be one of the brightest lights in his life. if only he could tell her that, without jeopardizing their friendship. “you can drink all the stars you want.” he sighed, as they got to the bar. he made sure there was a place for her to sit, and he stood next to her chair, attempting to block any prying eyes from the woman. and he motioned towards the bartender, asking him for another glass of champagne for the lady. “i still have my drink, but you should get your glass of stars as soon as possible. and speaking of stars, how’s my favorite tiny human? you girls got any plans for actual valentine’s day?”
“I think that is a very good idea.” Carlotta beamed, blushing softly as he called her outfit lovely, she prided herself on picking out good clothes after all to a compliment to them was a compliment to her. Giving his arm a squeeze as they finally arrived at the bar the blonde let go, sitting down carefully on the stool so that no part of her was exposed because the dress wasn’t the longest one in the world. It was almost heartening how he continued to call the champagne stars instead of laughing at her for using what some might think was such a juvenile description for a grown woman to use. Smiling softly she leant towards him so they could talk without it being the two of them yelling across the void, the club was already busy enough without them having a conversation at the tops of their voices. “Have you seen the movie Titanic? In the movie there is a bit when they both get into a car, I mean they are still on the boat but there is a car like…in the bottom of the boat so it can go to New York too. Anyway, he asks Rose where she wants to go and she says ‘to the stars’. That has always been my favourite part of that movie.” It was only partly relevant to what they were talking about but for some reason she felt like she needed to share that with Isaac. David had never let her finish the story before, she’d tried a couple of times, but he allowed her to go all the way through without interrupting. “Sorry…I just…anyway. Ivy is good! She’s such a cute little thing, almost turning over onto her tummy all on her own now. Like a wiggly worm really but the cutest one in the world.” The joy she got from talking about her daughter radiated from her, one hand pressed to her chest. “We are um…no not really any plans. I think I’m going to cancel the babysitter and just stay in with her because her dad is going to be away for Valentines Day anyway so maybe Ivy and I will watch a movie. What about you? Do you have any big plans?”
