(3/4) of my Frankenstein inspired anatomy drawings posted! This is a charcoal (regular and white) piece of the muscles and tendons inside the forearm. Out of all the sketches, this one is probably my favorite, idk I just like the way it looks.

Is it accurate though? Probably not.

From the 1 minute of looking up the anterior forearm structure, there appears to be 5(?) tendons connecting to the flexor muscles that appear in that portion of the forearm.

Accurate or not, I just enjoyed drawing something.

Did a set of anatomical drawings (this is 1/4 of them) inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Took forever to do the coffee staining, but I’m satisfied that I used charcoal as a medium and not colored pencils.

Fun fact, scraping coffee paper does produce a coffee scent. That, or the constant making of coffee paper was starting to have an effect on me.

(Note to future me: while scalpels are useful for fraying the edges, be more cautious)

The heart sketch was actually the first of the mini’s and it definitely took the longest. I’m not quite satisfied with how it turned out, white charcoal might not have been the route to go... maybe in the future I’ll try again. I’ve been told it looks vaguely similar to the liver, so oops.

As you can clearly see, I wasn’t going for full anatomical accuracy. I don’t have the patience, nor the skill for that. I think the reference photo was of a ‘fake preserved heart sculpture’ - it’s been deleted so I’d have to find it again to check.

For this drawing, I actually used the back of the coffee paper I’d selected. When making the coffee stains I used 4 items: 1) coffee 2) lemon juice 3) salt 4) instant coffee powder

Long story short, salt creates a patch free of color ( don’t ask for a good explanation, that’s just how I learnt it from my teacher) and I preferred how it made the paper look as opposed to a solid stained background.

it’s ya boi!!! (inked aceo with gouache and gold kuretake) i impulsively gave the gauntlet three fingers here just to see how i like it, and my conclusion is that i don’t think i’ll change it after all, so enjoy this Ultra Rare Extra Finger Koryn while you can
