Roast Royce
Not much people know the name of these small hidden gems but that’s why I’m here. Not to mention some of the names are quite magical.
The building is Stavanger Kaffebrenneri translates to coffee roastery, and the lovely waterside is Ripsbærstraen is translated to The Red Currants Beach. (As in currant berries, bær) 🍒☕
Finished the cocoa plant wallpainting at a coffee roastery in my hometown. Haven’t decided yet whether to charge actual money for my work or whether to suggest to them to pay me in tea and chocolate and donate the rest.
The big goal:
To be the biggest coffee roastery in the world.
Just kidding, just to be a bigger coffee roastery, but I’d like to keep it relatively small.
Right now, we have a 5lb Ambex roaster, and I love that roaster. I will probably always roast in-house coffees with that roaster. We have 7 local subscribers, 4 out of town subscribers, and we frequent 9 farmers markets per month. Oh, and we have one tiny wholesale client.
The goal: I want to be roasting in a much bigger place, all to ourselves, with a coffee shop people can come hang out it and play board games. By the end of 2024, we should have 100 local subscribers and 100,000 out of town subscribers. No more markets, just a cute little shop to visit. And 10 wholesale clients.
I feel it’s going to happen.
93 local subscribers to go.
99,996 out of town subscribers to go.
9 wholesale clients left.
Spent all afternoon today at a local coffee roastery creating a painting of a cocoa plant for the wall behind their chocolate counter. Will add details tomorrow. I’ve gained a whole new appreciation for all those poor chaps who painted fresko ceilings in the past. My neck really hurts now from looking up all the time. On the plus side I got free coffee and chocolates while working.

They say to do what you enjoy, and we enjoy roasting single origin coffee. The nuances that come with each new bean and every single roast keep me on the edge of my seat.
What we don't love is creating a bunch of garbage with our little coffee roasting business. That's why my husband and I came up with a coffee subscription service that has minimal packaging.
If you live in Bay County, Florida, we bring your freshly roasted coffee in a reusable tub every month. On the next delivery date, we switch the spent tub out with a fresh one. Just like the milk man.
If you live anywhere else, you mail you your coffee in a singular brown bag, with no additional packaging. Just the coffee bag. This creates one less thing to throw away.
We're hoping to create something that we can be proud of.
Anyways, here's the link if anyone wants to look at our subscriptions:
