Hi! Here's #2/2 #CovidChronicles #CoffeeChats that I wanted to post pre-residency. I'll have more for you when I return. 💕 In this episode of #CovidChronicles #CoffeeChat, I talk with musician, teacher, horror fiction writer @brenda_sue_tolian_ . We talk about many things including #teaching, #Wendigo, making #music, #bodyhorror, #feminism in horror writing and #film, balancing #creative, academic, and personal life, writing #trauma, #selfcare, #creative #collaborations, affecting change with our creative work, writing groups and #workshops in the time of #Covid, what makes a #monster, and different themes one can approach in horror. More info about Brenda Sue Tolian: Bio: Brenda S. Tolian is a Southwestern #Gothic Horror #writer from Southern Colorado. She is also a member of the Denver Horror Collective and Horror Writers Association. Her work has appeared in Haunted Mtl, SandHill Review, and, most recently, in the Anthology 101 Proof Horror. She also writes and is published academically on subjects such as #postmodernism and #Nabokov. She is in the forthcoming anthology Consumed Tales Inspired by The Wendigo, coming out in November. She has presented Southwestern #gothic tales and #creepy #academic topics at the @Southwestern American Pop Culture Association. Currently, she is hard at work on an in-depth non-fiction study on the use of violence upon the female body in oral tales onward to present-day topics in Horror and Gothicism. She is also finishing her MFA at Regis University's Mile-High MFA and looking forward to a Ph.D. in #Literature. She lives, teaches and studies with her college-age twin daughters, under the watchful eye of the “Blood Mountains”. I almost forgot the SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT I posted about mid October!

I recently found out that Ingram Book Distributors picked up both of my books for commercial distribution a few months ago! What does this mean? It means local book stores will be able to acquire copies of my book for commercial sale! I found out recently some have already been selling them on their “Online Shopping” websites.
