They have been called witches or Coffee

Coffee has a street, paths, a broomstick. The witches drink pitchers of it.     Anywhere.They sit close. They coven. They wear heels. They care. They are even more beautiful when they are not invisible or in their “homes”, when their teeth are in and you can see them up close in the flesh. Gorgeous. Batty. Coffee ladies. Their coffees’ foam bone dry, and squirm when sugar is added. I’ve heard, conversation starts in outer-space, in memory, memoriam, in hemlock or water, over and under Kale harvests. Conversation stencils itself in. That’s how it adds up. Witches don’t ask questions, like the delphinium, tall and pretty and dying. When there is no more left, no refills, Coffee’s over. There’s only work left. Witches talk until its work to talk, and then there’s only work left. Time to go back to their babies and their flies. Life’s open all night. Search my face. Reply.
