Charis. Jen and I met Charis when she was a barista at @alfred, a hipster coffee spot in Silverlake. Everyday with her behind the coffee bar was a reunion as if we hadn’t seen each other in months. Interesting what coffee joints have become these days. They seem to be modern day “Cheers” ( #cheers, sitcom from the 90’s) There was a regular bar patron at the bar, named Norm and every time Norm would walk in the bar, everyone would yell, “Norm”!!!!! It was like he was home every time he walked in, day after day. Same thing with Charis. She didn’t have to yell out “Sarah!” for me to feel welcome, all she had to do was throw the look that she knew we were there. Even when I see her out in the street, as I did today, with a bag of Ruffles in her mouth, 🎼I still feel like I’m in a place where everybody knows my name, and there always glad I came. You wanna be where people see, 🎼trouble are all the same, you wanna be where everybody knows your name.🎼 and end “Cheers” theme song. Thank you, Charis, for being our coffee slinger. #apersonaday 📸: #sony6000 #silverlake #alfredscoffee #losangeles #talktopeople #barista #norm #cheerssitcom #neighborhood #thankyou #coffeeslinger #ruffles #humansofla #friend #losangeles #coffee (at Silver Lake, Los Angeles)
