"Harry Potter" Graphic Designers MinaLima to Hold First Orlando Meet and Greet Since 2018

Everyone knows that costumes, music, and set design go a long way toward making a fantasy or sci-fi film seem more realistic, but have you ever thought about graphic design and the role it plays? Everything that isn’t set design, costumes, or props is graphic design – and even then, sometimes all of those are based on graphics and then adapted to another medium (e.g., the Marauder’s Map).

Suppose you’re reading this and saying “Duh!” to yourself. If that’s the case, you are probably very familiar with Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mina, collectively known as MinaLima, a.k.a., the wildly talented and creative graphic designers of the Harry Potter films – and really, most of the wizarding world at large! They’ve been creating your magical favorites since 2001, including Ron’s Howler, Dumbledore’s will, Fred and George’s Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes packaging, Luna’s Spectrespecs, and much more.

  If you’re just learning about MinaLima, you’re in luck! Climb out from that hut-on-the-rock you’ve been living under, and make your way to Universal Orlando Resort’s CityWalk this Saturday, March 23, and you will get the chance to meet the fabulous duo at their very first meet and greet in Orlando since 2018.

Why exactly are they in town? They’re promoting the House of MinaLima pop-up store, which “highlight[s] the designers’ magical creations” and features a variety of authentic, MinaLima-designed magical keepsakes, such as prints, journals, stationery, home décor, accessories, and more. The store is open until April 29.

On Saturday, March 23, Universal Orlando Resort guests can meet the MinaLima founders, the designers behind the graphic props of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, during a special appearance at the “House of MinaLima” pop-up store inside the Universal Studios Store at Universal CityWalk. From 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT, fans can meet, greet, and take a photo with Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, who have brought to life some of the most iconic Wizarding World props such as the Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, The Marauder’s Map, The Daily Prophet, the Black Family Tapestry and more.

I had a small window to escape town when school let out for summer and I took it. // My research on the goal was subpar for me (oh what, closed means the gates are closed? not just the visitor’s center?). But I never regret going. Ever. // @k_sealer hopped into #gertiebelle for a quick jaunt into #NewMexico for a #CoHP. We moved uphill on a misty morning watching elk and listening to yapping coyotes. The sun came out and we spotted a bear with cubs and postholed the last tiny bit to the summit. County highpointing is a weird hobby I guess? but oh the #adventure.
