Based around the top ‘Blade Light’.
Does anyone remember the cold edge?
!! Doesn’t sound familiar to me, but I hope it does to someone else!

88. Possession
It wasn’t exactly given to him.
Well.
Okay.
He’s not lying. Not really.
No one came up to him and put the sword in his hands, told him to keep it.
They didn’t have to.
Everyone knows the reputation of the weapon. How everyone who has ever wielded it has died.
Rather gruesomely, as well.
It’s unclear why, exactly, the owners keep dying.
There’s no curse upon it. It doesn’t have its own mind, to not follow through with its wielder’s intentions during a battle.
In any case, the sword is his now.
He’s not entirely sure what he’s supposed to do with it, really. Sure, he can’t actually die, but he doesn’t get into many sword fights, either.
Well.
He does have that house on Ecruna . . .
85. Falling
10.
She looked down.
She looked down, and there was no ground under her feet. Nothing holding her up.
9.
As if she's triggered something, she starts to fall.
8.
She stops abruptly, nearly dislocating her right shoulder.
She looks up, meeting the eyes of her partner.
Xe looks terrified, xir blue eyes wide and lips parted. She can hear xir breathing -- short, sharp. Trying to calm xirself.
"Hey, Ev."
7.
She starts to slip.
Well. Her glove starts to slip.
Everett's eyes are getting wider, and xe's scrabbling for a better grip. Reaching for her jacket sleeve, for her other hand.
6.
She tries to grip the cliff face beside her. She knows she won't be able to grab Everett's other hand. She tries to tighten her grip on xir hand. Tries to will the glove to go back to how it's supposed to be.
5.
Soon xe only has her fingers in xir hand.
The others are crowding behind xir, shouting something about physics and impossibilities and "do something, James!"
The separate words don't quite make it to her ears, really.
4.
She falls.
3.
She lands.
2.
Her world goes dark.
1.
Xe is left, staring over the edge, holding a bright pink glove.
(Also, is it just him, or has the animal population at his parents’ house risen dramatically?)
“Is that a gun in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?”
“I’m nowhere near you. Unless you’re talking to your tail, in which case it’s probably a gun.”
I just picked three random cards for this section and actually managed to pull out a pretty decent reading from it.
Maybe the next time tarot comes in I’ll pull from an actual deck, rather than going ‘this one, this one, and this one’.
