five times + leo (can do with or without both of them, whichever one you like more!)
Send me ‘five times + a word’ and I’ll write a drabble about our muses based on it.
1. You were probably a bit more nosier when meeting him than what you usually were when greeting people. It was just interesting to find another troll with another set of colorful horns and varying speech patterns.
You had no idea he’d met Leo. In hindsight, it’s very fitting that they became friends.
(Honestly you’re glad Leo has made as many friends as he has.)
2. Leo tells you plenty of stories, ‘crude’ or otherwise, because your ear is always open to hear them and you display plenty of interest and amusement when hearing them and little judgement. You also know he gives nearly everyone a nickname that can evolve and change over time.
You were ‘Foxy Grandpa’ after all, though you are secretly relieved it’s been shortened to ‘Pops’.
In any case the name ‘Gumby’ comes up plenty. You don’t connect the name to the person because those details aren’t as important as the actual shenanigans Leo gets into in depth in his tales.
You eventually do piece together that he is a troll, though you’re unsure if you’ve met.
3. You actually walk in on them hanging out in the garage, shooting the breeze while Leo works on his bike. You instantly recognize him though you never thought you’d meet him again like this. You pause in thought before Gamzee’s gaze falls upon you with a similar note of slight surprise. It’s a little awkward.
“Eyyyy Pops! This is Gumby you know my pal I told you abou- Oh wait fucking sweet did you bring snacks? Gumby we have hit the Pops jackpot, my friend.” Gamzee instantly relaxes into a smile.
“aw yeah my brother. SPEAKING OF JACKPOTS CAN WE HAVE PIZZA AGAIN SOON? that shit’s delicious.”
You chuckle. Soon you start making a point to make sure the mini fridge in the garage has faygo soda cans in it every once in a while.
4. Leo’s excited to tell you that ‘Gumby’ too has captured a pokemon of his own, and you’re once again glad that something so vital to Leo’s identity has come to stay in hive city.
Apparently his too is a ‘ghost type’. For some reason that makes you crack a small smile. Good taste in pokemon if not beverages.
5. You only learn bits and pieces of what happened down at the bottom of the sea at first, but you do know several of his friends came to his aid- knowing they were facing an unwinnable battle just for the opportunity to get Leo out of his prison.
And you know Gamzee was one of them, one who died in the act no less.
It rubs you the wrong way, how you were unable to help when so many other sacrificed so much. Guilt gnaws constantly while you try to contact and remain in contact with Leo.
But more importantly you are grateful and relieved.
You remember when Leo said he was unused to being treated well unless someone else wanted something from him, that untainted friendship was foreign to his very being.
Now he has so many people who care genuinely about his existence and well being, and even though you know this entire incident must be eating him inside even more than you, you think (or at least hope) he’s gradually warmed to the idea.
And you have more than yourself to thank for that.
You just wonder how you can ever repay them.
