You smile and grab a water bottle off your desk while he watches. Esperanza keeps him busy, making the wrench spin and dance. She enjoys showing off maybe a little more than she’d like to admit.
When he starts talking, you laugh so hard into a swig of water that you choke and spit it out.
“What– wait, what’d you call me? ‘Sire’?”
“Oh, man… what, uh, time period are you from?” He probably has no idea; to him, it’s just the present. Whoops. “I mean like damn, you just talk like a rich guy, or a knight in shining armor or whatever… hoo.” You give yourself a good punch in the chest, catching your breath from all that coughing.
“But yeah, I guess you could call me an expert. I’m a Pokemon Trainer, so,” you flash him the finger pistols, “I can tell ya what’s what. And first off, you don’t use bait or traps. You use these.” You reach into your pocket and grab the last spare Poke Ball you’ve got, tossing it to him. “Check it out.”
TIME period? As familiar as he is with the concept of time travel, he’s not exactly privy to what time period he’s in right now, let alone what he could call that of his own... He wouldn’t exactly call himself a rich guy-- the word’s particularly oversimplifying, and a little awkward-- but a knight in shining armor has a ring to it.
If only he was a knight. Or had armor. Truly tragic.
✖ -- “I am of the Ylissean royal family,” he says, bowing briefly. “Son of Princess Lissa. I guess I’m ‘rich’, but there’s kinda more to it to that...” He doesn’t notice his formal speech deteriorating before his eyes, but he does try to pat down the red flushing to his cheeks.
Thankfully, Leo presents him with the opportunity to regain his composure.
✖ -- “Crimson orbs of untold power...?” He peers into the one he’s been given, curious as to how such a small trap could hold such large creatures. It seems normal on the inside, and doesn’t appear to hold any talismans of enchantment, but he’s learned that magic works differently around here. “Where do I acquire some of my own? And how are they to be used?”
