The final exercise was to split into teams and design a festival. Our idea was party in the pumpkin. I found it difficult to pry ideas out of the shy people to start with, bit once we started having a laugh it was great. My tutor even complimented me as being a good team member. I found the initial idea changed completely from the final idea, I’m a way that’s a good things, it shows the development process.

7 Oct 15 - collaboration

Today we’ve done alot of role play. We were given a problem to solve with an outside event and weather, we had to work out how to keep the business going and make sure the event still goes on. We also did smaller things which involved making shapes in groups. I’ve discovered I work well with people who are willing to have a laugh, but not so much with people who are reserved and quiet.

Sharing time 

Sharing time can be an adventure, doing fun things can have a whole different meaning when you do things for yourself. This last weekend I took myself off to a sea life centre I haven’t ventured into one since my eldest child was tiny so that’s more than two decades ago.  But I didn’t go with children in the real sense of the word, but I did go with me, all of me and it was amazing.

At first I was confused as to the difference between wikis and blogs; they both sounded pretty similar to me. However, Kent explains that a “wiki has a much more open structure and allows other who have access to change what others have written”, while blogs are created posts for people to read and comment on (2013).

What does collaborative working mean?

The act of two or more persons building an organisation or working together for a particualr purpose. 

Group work: shared funding
