Fanfiction Collaborative Event

For those of you interested in writing a collaborative fanfiction, feel free to sign up for my event!

The sign up form will be at the bottom of this post, and more information regarding what the event is down below.

This event is both to challenge your ability to produce a fanfiction as a pair--meaning two people will be writing one fic--and for you guys to bring some fun into your fandom space.

How it works: Fill out the form linked below to sign up. On May 5th, I will go through and match two authors together on their responses (I will not pair anybody with somebody who's responses completely go against their own). On May 5th, sign ups close, and no more responses will be accepted (so share this post as much as you can to those who might be interested)

Each pair of authors will have until the end of November to write their collaborative fanfictions. All of December will be used for posting your fanfiction on AO3.

The Rules Are Simple: -- Each fanfiction must be over 15,000 words. -- You must maintain open communication with your matched writer (That means no writing a scene with disturbing imagery without consulting your partner first). -- If for any reason you are unable to continue the event, let me know, so I can find another writer for your partner. -- if you feel like you and your partner don't work well together, message me. I want you to be comfortable with the person you're writing with. -- my new discord server is mandatory, only so it's easier to keep track of.

please spread this around as much as you can, so we can have a big, fun, event throughout different fandoms! 🫶🫶🫶

i’m nervous about applying, i’ve never done collaborative fic before, and don’t know a lot of fandoms

hey! it's okay--if it makes you feel better, i've never run an event like this, so i, too, am learning! and im actually in my first ever fandom event right now, as well, so we'll both be learning about collaborative events as we go.

if you don't want to sign up, you totally don't have to, but everybody here is extremely nice. I'm going to try my best to make sure everybody gets paired, as well. Also! even if your fandom is small, there's already people who have chosen that they're comfortable writing for a fandom they don't know!

Matches are going out some time tomorrow! If you have not yet joined the discord server, please do so today.

Fanfic Collab Event Schedule

Schedule: 

Event Form Open: April 22-May 5

Match change time: May 5-May 12

First check-in: June 24-28

Second check-in: August 15-19

Third check-in: October 6-10

Last check in: November 24-29

It’s basic, I know, but I don’t want to overwhelm you guys with a bunch of things happening, you know? 

-The check ins will be basic things (how are you doing, what’s your word count, are you working well with your match)

-May 5-12, the match change time. Take the week to talk with your match one-on-one, try to talk about fic ideas, maybe write a drabble together and see how you two work together. If for any reason, you find that you cannot work well with your match, or you think that the two of you aren’t a good fit let me know. 

I would rather get it sorted out later than have one of you be scared to speak up and possibly abandon/be abandoned (or be miserable writing with your partner). Of course if no issues happen until later, than let me know as soon as possible so I can sort it out:3 

I would say that the third check in is the one where it is no longer possible to quit or drop out. Unless it’s for something seriously unavoidable, then it’s too late, and I would ask that you finish the fic. 

I think that’s it. If there’s any updates (there probably will be), then I will let you all know.

in the server, if you havent chosen the role participating in the collab event, you wont be able to view the events announcments channel, so youll need to select that role, and then you can view it!

tbh idek why that channel exists, ig i havent gotten around to deleting it yet🥲
