Millennials vs. the housing market—who wins?

Steve peered up at Bucky as he helped him back onto his chair, looking over his expression. He was half expecting his friend to come out with a lecture on why he shouldn’t be doing this, on how foolish he was being. So when he barely said a word other than that he had hoped those days were over, he wasn’t sure how to feel.
“Yeah I’m sure. Just had a lot on my mind so I didn’t really have much to eat this morning,” he muttered, hoping Bucky would leave it at that.
Bucky rolled his eyes at the comment, but other than that he said nothing. A million times before had he begged Steve to stop that annoying habit of his, had told him a million times to stay out of fights he couldn't win. But this time he didn't. Too tired to repeat himself over and over and over again, knowing that his words weren't being heard. Let the man fight if he so wanted. At least now, he was strong enough to survive whatever fight he'd end up in. Unlike before he'd pull through any injury he'd earn for his trouble.
"You're unbelievable, you know that?" he tried to chuckle instead but it didn't really sound the way he'd wanted to. "Who else would rather starve themself out than miss an opportunity to go on a fight?"
(Collaspe meme; cause that M!A made that last thread suck) Garrus grunted as Tavi collapsed against him, his mandibles flickering as he looked on with concern, "Tavi? Can you hear me?" he asked, looking for some kind of response. "Crap..." he said quietly, "Tavi?"
Tavi groaned softly, glancing up at him before dropping his head back down.

* Alex opened her door , blinking back the glare of the streetlights. It was almost four in the morning , and from the looks of it she’d been deeply asleep a moment before…The flesh below her eyes was a darkish purple, and her left cheek was badly creased from her pillow. But the most noticeable change of all , was her body— sheathed only by one of her extensive shawls. The frail material left little to the imagination , but was a sweltering night—and having only 2 hours sleep , she was in no shape at all to be playing the ‘coy maiden’ …*
“ …..Q-Quarry?” * She croaked, one eye squinting to just make out his horns and teeth from the rest of his silhouette* “… Hon, as much as I love ya , do you have any idea what time it is??…”
The blue mutant wasn’t sure how he manged to keep going. Guess they really did build him to endure the worse possible scenarios. That however didn’t make the injuries any less gut wrecking painful as they were. His whole body was shaking as he continued on his way, using the wall for support. He almost sighed in relief when the familiar sight came into view.
A few more strides and he was by the door, leaning against it as he knocked. It didn’t take long for the door to be opened, a tiny and weak smiling spreading on his face.
“S-Sorry.” he responded in a shaky tone. In a split second his vision blurred and he fell forward, having just barely enough consciousness to brace a hand against the door before he crashed into Alex. He didn’t want to crush her under his weight.
"Ringabel? Ringabel! What's wrong?" This is not what Edea had been expecting when she found him at her door in the middle of the night! Who does this? But she said nothing more as she carefully lowered him to the floor. It had to be something major if he would collapse in front of her, after all.
Ringabel had tried to keep himself from going to his Angel's room each night--forcing himself to stay awake in fear of the nightmares that haunted him every time he closed his eyes for even a second. For weeks he went through this self-induced hell, until all those sleepless nights caught up with him in the worst nightmare yet. Ringabel had to see his Angel, had to. And so, he stumbled towards her room and leaned against the door for all the support he could get.Ringabel could hardly hear Edea say his name as he fell into her arms, too exhausted to get back on his own two feet without help."I need you." Ringabel mumbled, clinging to her with all the strength he had left, afraid to let go in fear if he did, she would be lost forever like in his nightmares.
He looks at the collapsed Ringabel in shock, catching him and bringing him inside. Then he begins almost immediately tending to the other vagrant, making sure he's not fatally injured... before making sure he's comfortable and settling in next to him for some rest.
Hurts. Hurts so much.Ringabel has no memory of the ambush, nor of how he managed to make it to the fellow vagrant's residence before finally collapsing. He has no memory of being tended to, of being cared for and comfortable--only the feeling of healing hands on wounded skin. It bordered on pain from being touched and the relief that was brought with salve, all Ringabel could focus on in the darkness. Then there was light. Warmth. It took a moment to open his heavy eyelids, blurry vision making out the figure of Maus beside him, resting."Ma--Maus...?" Ringabel's voice was hoarse, body much too sore to get up and move.
"Castor! no no." Wendy ran over to the collapsing frame of the boy, "Please come on wake up Cas.."
Castor hadn't told many people about his health problems. Fortunately, Wendy was one of them. It was only a matter of whether or not she'd remember and act in time. Castor had underdeveloped kidneys. The right kidney could still function well enough, but at a certain point, it would easily become too much for him to handle and he'd be in danger of kidney failure. He'd only ever actually collapsed once before a few years ago when he'd found out his right kidney didn't work as well as he and Pollux had assumed.
At Wendy's voice, Castor's eyes fluttered. Finding no breath for words (or rather having nothing to say), Castor gestured to his side, where his kidney was. Most likely, he'd unknowingly ingested a spiked drink.
"You seem to have a slight fever; let's get you to bed then," she told him and kissed his forehead before helping him up, "Rest will do you good."
He shakily got to his feet, partially leaning on Tsuki, moving carefully into the bedroom. Slowly, he lowered himself down onto bed, grimacing at how disoriented he felt. Frowning, he gestured for her to come over. "Stay with me?"
