"Small, active warbler with diagnostic yellow face, dark collar, and orange crown. Flashes white outer tail feathers while foraging for insects. Found in montane forest and edges, often in pairs. Follows mixed feeding flocks, often moving quickly through the middle levels of the trees. Sexes alike."

December 31, 2020 - Collared Redstart or Collared Whitestart (Myioborus torquatus)

Found in Costa Rica and Panama, these warblers live in mountain forests. Foraging in pairs or small groups and frequently joining mixed-species flocks, they feed on insects, often capturing them in the air. Females build domed nests on the ground from plant fibers, roots, tree-fern scales, and leaves and probably incubate the eggs alone. Both parents feed the chicks.
