Commodore VC20

Der VC20 war der Vorgänger des legendären C64 und hatte bereits dessen "Brotkasten"-Form. Genutzt wurde er vor allem als Spielcomputer, obwohl es auch professionelle Programme für den Arbeitsbereich gab. Angeschlossen wurde er an einem Fernsehapparat mittels TV-Modulator oder einem Monitor, die damals aber noch sehr teuer waren. Spiele konnten mit einer Datasette oder mit einem Diskettenlaufwerk geladen werden. Zusätzlich gab es Spiel-Module die an der Rückseite des VC20 angeschlossen wurden. Einige Spiele erforderten mehr Speicherplatz, da die 5KB Arbeitsspeicher, von denen nur 3,5Kb nutzbar waren, schnell an ihre Grenzen stießen. Aus diesem Grund wurden Speichererweiterungen in Form von Stechmodulen mit verschiedenen Kapazitäten hergestellt. Da der ursprüngliche Name VIC20 in Deutschland zweideutig aufgefasst werden konnte, wurde er auf den deutschen Markt in VC20 unbenannt. Die amerikanische Version hingegen behielt den ursprünglichen Namen.
