"HEY, I'M NOT ENJOYING THIS EITHER." She grunts promptly, folding her arms over her chest. Mari shifts and leans on one leg as Navirou hums in thought from his perch on her shoulder. The felyne winced with every passing second, anticipating the worst as their companion-for-hire carefully navigated the trap-laden hallway.
Questing on foot was never something she enjoyed. Perhaps she'd taken the privilege of a mount a little for granted—because while she was perfectly athletic and capable without a monstie, Mari simply didn't feel the best without one. Sadly, the tunnels beneath the ruins of the Forbidden Grounds were far too narrow for any of her monsties to fit.
As an estute member of her community, it made sense that she of all people would be selected to investigate the ruins. Mahana only trusted their best with these parts. However, Chief Gara did agree to letting the Guild hire an expert at disarming traps, in case any should remain. The last thing that they needed was the Champion of Mahana going down, or going alone in a place that was normally considered off limits.
Of course, as chief navigator of the team, Navirou insisted he come along. There was no use trying to deter the fat-headed felyne. "At least the monsters in these parts can't be huge . . . well, unless something decided to tunnel into the walls."
