Miami Beach, Florida - 1954
Miami’s Versailles Hotel was built in 1940 and closed in 2013. It originally consisted of an Art Deco-style tower and cupola before a 132-room addition was added in 1955. In 2015, the new wing was demolished and a redevelopment of the 1940 tower was planned, but never happened.
After sitting vacant for a few years, new plans were announced in 2019 for an Aman Hotel project that would consist of revitalizing the historic tower and a new adjacent tower. Permission for this development was granted in 2020. As of August 2021, when the 3rd photo had been taken, it does not appear any work has been done. Source
