"In hindsight, Granpa told me to bring a jacket. Maybe I should've listened..."
Poppy often just jogs her way back home from exercising at the Colliseum. However, it turned out that it was pretty rainy and- even if she's waterproof, having rain coming down on you isn't really desirable either. So she sat down and waited for the Riverperson bus to arrive.
And she'll be the first to tell you that the bus doesn't come around the area often enough. At least the posters for plays are nice to look at...
Rovine del Colosseo V, Roma, 2009.
The Roman Amphitheater of Catania, the largest in Sicily and one of the largest in the Roman Empire, was built in the 2nd century and was expanded in the 3rd century to reach a capacity of 15,000 spectators. The excavated remains that can be seen represent about one tenth of the entire structure. Most of the amphitheater lies beneath buildings in the historic center of Catania.
Modern excavations at the beginning of the 20th century allowed the site to be opened to the public in 1907, but within ten years it was being used as an open sewer by many of the surrounding buildings. Maintenance and conservation of the ruins occurred sporadically into the 21st century, and it was closed again for repairs when I took these photos in April 2022.

Colossal
This was made in October 2020! I was in Rome for the first time in my life (as a young, Italian woman) and it was super amazing. I’m going to post some more pictures if you want to see some.
