He knew better then to run off into the deepest parts of the woods where no one had ever dared to travel before. At least it was a rule that he told his sister, but it wasn't one he kept himself. Once on a dare, he had wandered through these very woods and had come across a quiet stream. It was the prefect spot for one to clear ones mind, or to carve a rabbit out of a block of wood that he happened to be doing on this warm afternoon. Jack was sitting down underneath a tree, his hands busy as he focused on making the details just right. Even though his mother disapproved, he was always the first to welcome back the traveling huntsman that would pass by his village every now and then. The huntsman would always indulge in Jacks curiosity and would feed him stories about far away places he had been to. And it had been him who had taught Jack how to carve several different figures out of wood. Of course Jack was still learning, but this attempt seemed promising enough to him. After all, he needed it to be just right if he was going to give it to Emma on her birthday.
His sisters birthday was coming up in about two days, and like him, she loved rabbits the most. "Good. Got ya ears...now need the rest of ya body," he mumbled. Howver it was then that Jack heard some rustling in the bushes behind him that caused him to flinch. He climbed up to his feet, his hand clutching tightly to his knife as he looked towards the direction that the noise have come from. "Hello? Anyone there? Promise not to bite ya head off or anything..."
