@colorsofogord "I ain't never used a word wrong in my life. And I want to see. I deserve it since I'm basically the oldest person in all of the ravagers ever."

So, @colorsofogord wanted to know about the way things went when Yondu was Exiled, or at least what we thought about how it went. So here’s mine. I am caught between when it happened. If it happened after Yondu had learned about it, he would already have Peter, and he’d already know the horrible things he’d actually been doing. So I don’t think the exile would have come as a surprise or anything. If this is when it had happened, he probably would have settled into knowing that he’d done something very wrong and hating himself for it. Stakar wouldn’t have heard him out and Yondu would have left regardless. There would be no fight to it. Now, I really like the thought of it happening BEFORE Peter. I like to think that Ego planned ahead. Meredith wasn’t the only mother he killed. It’s easier to convince someone to bring him /his/ child if they are without a mother. Seems far less suspicious after all doesn’t it? A father trying to reconnect with his children when they’ve lost their mother? A father trying to do what was right by taking them into his home to shelter them? Ego is a manipulative being, so I have no doubt he probably targeted that soft spot in Yondu that was made when his parents quite literally traded him for their own lives. Yondu very much wants to believe that not all people would be like his parents. So, he wouldn’t know he was taking the kids to their death. He’d think of it no different than someone paying a cab to go pick up a loved one. Given, it was an excessive amount of money but still. So, Look at it like this. Stakar finds out what he’s doing, maybe it was leaked by someone on Yondu’s crew. He confronts Yondu, accusing him of trafficking. Yondu doesn’t see it like that, because Ego’s played the part of caring father well enough. So Yondu gets heated. How could Stakar think he’d fall so low!? He tries to explain it, the way that Ego did but Stakar isn’t having it, he doesn’t even let him get the first word out before he’s tossing more harsh accusations. Now remember, Yondu has no clue that Ego’s been using these kids. Ego made a promise they wouldn’t be hurt, Yondu just didn’t make it a very specific condition. So Yondu is pissed, and hurt that the man he’s practically called father would accuse him of something so low. Stakar is pissed that the man he raised like a son would do something so low. Tempers are high and everything just comes to a blinding apex. Yondu shouts at Stakar, and Stakar knocks him flat on his ass, bloodying his nose and busting his lip. Of course that just pisses Yondu off more. So he tells Stakar where he can stick it and he leaves. Ogord calls it Exile. So they split on sour terms, and Yondu continues what he’d been doing until he gets Peter. That’s when it all comes crashing down. He is EVERYTHING Stakar accused him of and more. He’s no better than the Kree slavers who bought him, or the Badoon who took him to them. Everything comes to a grinding halt. In those fleeting moments of self hatred, Yondu decides that he can’t return Peter for the sake of someone else going to get the boy. He took him off Terra and that means he has a responsibility to keep him safe. Maybe sometime after he tries to contact Stakar to tell him everything. Tell him he agrees. That he’s a horrible person who deserves a fate far worse than death. That he’s accepted his exile. But there’s no response. That eats at him, even if he hides it really well. After Peter is grown he probably tries a few more times, because Peters going to need the 99 at his back in the life he’s chosen to live but once more Stakar ignores him. So when they clash on Contraxia it’s a mess of pent up emotions. He wanted Stakar to meet Peter, because Yondu is damn proud of the kid. He wanted to tell him he’d owned his exile, but he wanted to ask a number of questions along the lines of “ if something happens would you let them back in.” But yeah. I really like the idea of Stakar never knowing Peter aside from the guy on Yondu’s Crew who won the battle against the Kree on Xandar. And then meeting him and finding out about the mess with Ego and what really happened and how Yondu spent 30 some years of his life trying to do right by the boy he’d kept and in fact saved. BECAUSE ANGST!
Nikki: I don't get it. It's like I'm totally invisible to guys...
Yondu: Still upset about Charlie, huh?
Nikki: Mmhmm...
Yondu: Luckily... I know a guy who is super into you.
Nikki: Really? Who?
Yondu: *calls out* STAKAR. NIKKI'S FEELING UNLOVED.
Stakar: What? *bursts in and hugs on Nikki* Be on the lookout because the cuddle coyote is on the prowl.
Nikki: UGH. *struggles in his grip* NO. WHY?!
Yondu: *smirks* Stay out of my room.
