Every sperm whale that we've documented the stomach contents of has been found to have hundreds of colossal squid beaks in their stomach.
That's terrifying and here's why.
Food passes through their bodies in a matter of hours, that means that at most that's only a third of their daily intake.
Sperms whales aren't generally deadly to humans, we're simply not large enough to satisfy their hunger, but colossal squid are deadly to humans, even with very little effort, due to their toothed suction cups, and we are both the size of their meals, and something they might be curious enough about to want to feel all over just to get an idea about what we are.
If the sperm whales are potentially eating a thousand or two squid, every single day, just how many colossal squid are out there in the ocean, they must abundant as hell.
