Columbus Comic Con; Experience

I just got back from a Saturday full of comic con. My experience was great. I went once before but I didn’t get so lucky or have a good experience. This time was waaaay different. We, (my cousin that we’ll call S and me) got there around 11:30, right on time since nothing really started until later but we wouldn’t be held up in traffic. I had been to one of these before but never cosplayed so I did today, as Fem!Kaneki Ken from a rather popular anime; Tokyo Ghoul. S had never been to any of these so everything was cool to her, which made me happy seeing her happy at all the cool cosplay’s. So we get in and go to the game/booths room. Immediately the first thing I go to is the giant katana’s, of course, and buy one with a black sheath and red etchings. It was $30 which I couldn’t tell if it was bad or good then but now i’m saying it might be pretty expensive but worth it. Then we wonder around the con getting pictures with anyone and everyone, finally we find a good Deadpool and a group of other characters like Captain Trump and Cable, Batman. So we both get one with Deadpool first and then go to get one with Batman and he vanished. It’s been like 10 seconds at the most and this batman did not look like he was going anywhere fast. Nevertheless he was gone, this started our journey looking for The One True Batman™. We looked for a bit and after finding nothing we just wandered around, not really looking at anything. Many might know that Kaneki’s kinda ‘arch nemisis’ is Tsukiyama. I had been looking for him all the con time we’d been there. When I finally found him squee’s were shared and a bunch of high pitched fangirling as well as some pretty bad acting on my part. The best part was probably the fact that the cosplayer was carrying around a sign that read: ‘Have you seen Kaneki?’ Which made em tremendously happy. This event only started the uphill slope to happiness for me today. After getting food, which is expensive as fuck I might add ($24 for 2 cheeseburgers - which were not satisfactory - some fries and 2 drinks), and not finding any good panels we went back into the gaming/booth room. We continued looking and eventually got these caricatures from us, which we pretty damn nice. After aimlessly walking around for a bit more we found a commissions booth charging $5 for a black and white drawing of anything you could think of that would fit on a half sheet of paper.. anything so of course I got a destiel chibi cute thing where Cas raises me from perdition and tells Dean he is going to adopt me and then Dean gets mad because I’m stealing all of his huggles. S got a scary looking version of her wearing the God purge mask. We didn’t learn this ^ until after the con because that’s when we picked them up but yeah. After we put our commissions in we went and watched the Cosplay Contest for a bit (damn do people have skill). Then we had to run to the other side of the main floor to make ‘Tea Time With Deadpool’ which was hilarious the last time I went despite not being able to sit through it all. It was great this time too. (Captain Trump became a thing i’m sorry Hail Hydra u did it tho Captain xD) After that was over at 7 (Saturday con ends at 8) we rushed back to the gaming/booth section to get our commission and, my favorite part about all of this get my one picture with Thor. No, not the avenger, the car. That’s right probably my favorite part of this con was my last 10 minutes where I waited and saved just enough money to get a picture with the Thor, the exact replica car of the 67′ Chevy Impala from Supernatural. The car’s owner, Jimmy LeMay (who is the sweetest and nicest man I’ve met), gives all who want a photo ops with the car a chance to get costumes as well. Such as Castiel’s Trenchcoat and Deans Jacket. We were the last people really who were in the area of the car and the other Photo Ops were done and they were about ready to close shop. We ran like lighting and paid our fees and I kinda made S ge tin with me so I could have her wear Dean’s Jacket and I could wear Cas’s trenchcoat. He even let me hold an Angel Blade and S got the colt. I was so impassive I spooked myself when I saw the photo. While it was printing Jimmy (Bobby Ringer xD) let me see the real props they got from the show and even let me sit in the front seat and was going to let S get a pic with her phone. Right then her phone died and we were not going to waste these great peoples time while we charged it so no front seat pic but I still got to sit in the front seat and honestly it felt so great. I doubt I breathed 3/4ths of the time I was in the vicinity of the car, not at all actually in the car. It was the biggest reason I went and it did not disappoint. I was so so soooo happy with the car picture, I doubt anything will ever top anywhere ever for me.

I’m hoping they come back to Columbus next year so I can get nothing but pictures with Thor. I might even just cosplay Cas or Dean or something.
