Benverly Count of Monte Cristo AU

Benjamin Hanscom's perfect future is thrust into ruins when he is wrongfully accused of treason and imprisoned for years. But a chance encounter with a fellow prisoner motivates him to escape and leads him to discovery of monumental treasure. He leaves whatever could be salvaged from his old life in the ashes and creates a new, enigmatic persona for himself. All to have revenge on those who wronged him. All to deliver hell to their doorstep.

I don’t normally post wips but here’s the first pass of my Count of Monte Cristo au designs for Vax and Percy!

Shoot me down if you feel like I'm wrong, but outside the CoMC Au, i feel like sea burial could be a viable way to dispose of corpses on Tartarus? It's already located on a really isolated island, why waste the time and effort to dispose of an unwanted corpse in a grave somewhere else? Especially if they're of dangerous criminals. The only people who would want the body to be buried properly would be potential family members (and who gives a fuck about their wants on Tartarus) or their followers. Sea burial would be convenient and it would keep followers from stealing a body and/or making a shrine out of the gravesite. I thought about the potential of Tartarus staff using cremation as well, especially since that seems to be the standard in Japan, but again it would require a ton of energy and time to cremate a body, it's not an instantaneous event. Just weigh the body down, stuff it in a shroud and bury it at sea. Again, just my thoughts, but I've had this in my head for a while and considering how it coincides with my love of TCoMC, I had to word vomit. Ty for your time.

that is a fair analysis. my main issue is that there is almost certainly a morgue where they do extremely detailed autopsies on dead prisoners. theres no way someone hasnt faked death in an attempt to escape before. sea buriul is very much a realistic method of getting rid of corpses, its the step before that that im concerned about

Does that mean that 1) Izuku has a scene where he's down with murdering/blinding a guard to create a chance to escape and only his Faria can talk him outta it, and 2) he gets thrown off a cliff in a body bag while being butt-ass naked? Cause that slaps.

1) yes. absolutely. prison guards are often p shitty and tartarus guards feel especially justified in being assholes bc tartarus holds the supposed worst criminals in japan. combine that woth prejudice towards quirkless ppl and u get the idea. izuku would absolutely murder a prison guard. depending on whether i make all might or afo (or both in some way) his faria, this would go very differently

2) im not sure how corpses are disposed of in tartarus, but something like this, if i can
