Comcast, Comcast, Comcast.
So I wrote this out already, but Tumblr fucked up and I lost it. So I'm going to run through these steps quickly.
Comcast data cap for us is 300 GB per month, you get three free strikes before Comcast starts charging you $10 (or €7.99) for each 1 GB you use above 300 GB.
Whatever, I live in a house with three people, all avid computer users of varying degrees. Redditors, Netflix obsessives, gamers, etc. etc. We keep below the 300 GB by being careful and sharing the system without abusing it.
We did have someone who broke into our WiFi though. The bastard who did this was never found, but was clearly one of the three-four neighbors actually close enough to the house to do so.
(I glare seething daggers of raw hatred into their cold, blackened hearts whenever I get the chance.)
We tried to explain to Comcast that someone was using our WiFi without permission, but not like they give a shit. So that was faaantastic.
It took us about four months before we were able to get rid of that asshole finally and moved on with our lives. Though I really hate him/her more than I hate Comcast, I want some kind of coverage for assholes like him/her.
What the fuck would happen if he/she actually broke our data cap for that last month? He/she did it for three months and almost a fourth. Would Comcast actually do something? Is there some kind of safety net to fall on when someone does this? WTF am I supposed to do?
This all ended unceremoniously, no one was ever found, nothing actually happened in the end. So that sucked. But does anyone know what's supposed to happen, I know they're aware of it, but Comcast didn't do shit when we told them about it.
Which is just great.
