Comedy Carnival
Last night three of my flatmates went to a My Chemical Romance show leaving myself, Mar, and Mel to find something to do. Since putting window clings in out living room only took a few minutes, we had to find another way to entertain us on a Saturday night. After a while we finally decided to head out to the Comedy Carnival. GREAT DECISION ON OUR PART!
After a discussion with the bouncer about how Marilee is not under 18, we entered about 45 minutes before the show started. The MC, Pete Jonas, was pretty funny and great at connecting with the crowd. The first comedian was a Scottish guy named Paul Pirie. At first he was wicked loud and his accent was so thick that we could barely understand him. I laughed at his first few jokes because I felt weird not doing so. A few minutes in, however, and I could understand most of what he was talking about. He wasn't bad at all. The second comedian, Geoff Norcott, was one of the funniest people I've seen live. If anyone is in London for a few they should look into a show of his. Just know some simple British lingo and you'll understand his show. The last performer was a comdian/magician. Pete Firman was awkwardly funny, which I love. He was obviously frustrated with the crowd, however, because instead of laughing at things like Firman hammering a nail into his nose, the crowd cringed. One shouldn't gross out drunk people.
Overall it was a successful night out. I'm now off to Tesco for groceries so I don't live completely on the candy my mother sent me!
