I watched 2 stand up comedies on Prime this evening. Both are fairly new being released this year:
David Spade - Dandelion. I like David Spade’s comedy. It’s dry, self deprecating and a bit cringy. I laughed quite a bit during his special. There’s a joke where he spoke of the after effects of consuming a burrito that made me laugh way too hard.
Iliza Shlesinger - A Different Animal. I did not chuckle until her “shower” joke - which didn’t come until about 20 minutes in. She also likes getting on her soapbox. I agree with most of what she’d say whilst on that soapbox, but none of it was new or revolutionary. There was cheering from the audience but not a lot of laughing. It was “meh”. 🫤 Her outfit was an interesting choice for a standup comedy show. Maybe her “Mom Brain” made her forget that she put on her kid’s diaper.
Anyway, that is my comedy review for this evening. Now, I can go back to the miserable world of The Handmaid’s Tale. Still on season 4. It’s a great show but a little intense to binge watch. lol.
