“I just,” Zack starts off, uncrossing his arms and shoving both hands into the pockets of his sweats. “You haven’t said it lately. And I thought maybe I did something or you wanted to leave me or something…”

Annie was a long time patient of the vet hospital. Zack hadn’t been working there for very long, but the little old beagle quickly stole his heart and didn’t let go, even until the very end.

When kidney and pancreatic disease cause Annie’s life to come to a close, it hits Zack the hardest, but he finds comfort in an unexpected place.
