Alex is a prisoner who has been denied parole despite being deserving of it. John is a gullible new guard. Alex plans to escape, and John is his ticket to be able to do so.
The only thing that gets Alex through a breakup is chocolate. And maybe the candy store’s cashier.
This is my entry for the Let It Roll contest.
Alex stands on the other side of the door frame, smiling gently at John. There’s a five year old with his arms wrapped around Alex’s legs but Alex doesn’t seem to notice. “Hey. Just dropping in like I said I would. Brought you coffee,” he says softly as he holds a paper Starbucks cup out in his hands.
The doctor said it’s there. She pointed at it on the ultrasound screen and congratulated them. They’re having a baby. He and Alex. A baby.

Oh God, this game is not funny anymore and Alex wanted out. Jack is only slightly taller than him so an elbow to the face wouldn’t be so hard to execute and while Jack recovers from the unexpected blow Alex can grab a boxer and a shirt and run out or something.
Except Jack’s free hand was now on top of the one Alex had on his towel’s knot and. Oh God.
