But what's it about? & Is it truly original? (that one we hope so haha)
FAQ under the cut, or just random questions you could ask while reading this beautiful Masterpost :3
Q - "But what's it about?"
A - The OvA Collab (actual story) is about OCs entering a brand new world where everyone either left or is now just ash & bones, where the only things alive are FUCKIN MOSQUITOS and Ais. As we all know Ai is the worst thing for an artist, stealing art & confusing. So, as we all are OC Artists, what better way to fight Ai if not transform different Ais into various killer robots that our OCs in this comic will fight!
Actual planning was creating this Ai enemies, this city where the story takes place & the relationships & trusts our different OCs will have :D
Q - "Is money involved?"
A - Nope, none from us creators nor from you! This comic is free-to-read (if that means something), so just sit back, grab a fan & cold drink & relax!
Q - "Can I support then in any way?"
A - Ofc! Ya can leave likes, follow this blog (& us artists' own blogs) & maybe even reblog! It's a great way to up our motivation to bring this comic alive!
Q - "Can I eat a single taco while reading this comic?"
A - We believe no, as this comic will release in pages (around one or two at once), & in different days, so we suggest multiple tacos
Q - "When will the first pages arrive?"
A - August 2nd first two pages, then we'll see, for now release is not programmed & it probably won't ever be
Q - "Is Ai used in any way in this project?"
A - Hell nah, no AI was used in this project. We are STRICTLY anti-genAI, and our plot and characters address the real world issues caused by the widespread adaptation of generative AI.
Q - "Will the comic be very long?"
A - We don't exactly know how much all we planned will last, we do have exactly what will happen, so if we have to take a guess maybe 50 pages? Maybe more? Again no idea, but everything is all planned with the finale, so we won't be "making the comic more long cause it is going very successfull"
THX FOR REACHING THIS FAR! I HOPE YA ENJOY OUR COMIC & HAVE A GREAT DAY!
Detective Ricky Ready becomes the prime suspect in a murder—not because he committed it, but because he made one desperate decision to protect the woman he loved.
As evidence rewrites itself and an unseen force manipulates crime scenes, media, and public perception, journalist Eren Able uncovers a conspiracy where the truth itself has become a weapon.
Who I'm Looking For
\- Sequential comic artist
\- comic art style
\- Strong storytelling and cinematic panel composition
\- Interested in helping build a long-term independent comic series
Compensation
This project is not funded upfront.
Revenue from comic sales will first be used to pay the illustrator their agreed-upon page rate. After the illustrator has been paid, any remaining funds will be reinvested into producing future issues, allowing the series to become self-sustaining over time.
Ownership
This is a collaboration—not a co-creation. All rights to the story, scripts, characters, titles, and the New December universe remain my intellectual property. The illustrator will receive full credit for their artwork, and all compensation and publishing rights will be clearly outlined in a written agreement before production begins.
If you love grounded crime stories, noir, and cinematic comics, I'd love to see your portfolio and discuss the project.
So like, HYPOTHETICALLY if I wanted to find an artist to partner with me for a project grant application whenever the Canada Council for the Arts site is back up, how would I go about doing that?
